Interesting consistency in the comments, and I agree - while I enjoy lonny, high gloss, etc, I really really miss Domino and would happily pay more for a good hard copy magazine. How the Online Shelter Mag Industry Exploded The New York Times |

Not a technically a bar, but I bought restoration hardware's bathroom etagere and use it as a bar - http://www.restorationhardware.com/rh/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod1421002&navCount=1 - Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Good Questions: Looking for a Bar Cabinet & Hutch |

I second the eastern market nomination for art. Also check out Good Wood (U and 15th? 16th?), they always have some interesting and reasonably priced things. Apartment Therapy DC | Open Thread 7 Washington, DC |

we have something very similar, it is a little crawl space under our stairs that we have converted into a little dog house (complete with a grate door!). Our dog absolutely loves it, and I love not having to decorate around a regular dog crate. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | Dog Crate Gate Do It Yourself |

we did something similar, but used a tall bookcase from restoration hardware (meant for the bathroom) for our bar. The one drawer is great for linens, the open shelves make it seem airy and doesn't cramp our small living/dining room. Apartment Therapy New York | Look! Bookcase Bar Washington DC |

I like the idea of hanging art on it. Hang a picture rail above the mirror (could you use the current frame?) and hang the art salon style... either one big piece or several smaller ones. Side comment, would you consider painting your room another color? A softer color would likely suit the mirror - a subtle silver gray, or just a toned down version of the peach you currently have, along with some white pillows on that couch, would completely change the mood of the room. Mary McGee was on the cover of Domino magazine a few years ago. I saved the edition and have copied so many of her ideas. I understand wanting a rare name. It was very unusual to meet another Olivia when I was growing up but within the last five years the name has become uberpopular. Now, it seems a majority of expecting couples I know - everyone from friends to aquaintances, indeed my dentist waxed rhapsodic about the name during my last cleaning - tell me they are considering Olivia. It is nice that they like the name, but part of me misses the days when my name was a little less common. Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh | Blogging CNN: Baby Name Remorse |

Why not hang two long mirrors to the left and right of the desk (in the center of each molding panel)? Basically, flank the desk with two mirrors for balance and paint it white, get a white filing cabinet that can fit under the desk (better yet, paint a small filing cabinet bright yellow to relate to your walls and put it under the desk), and you are done.
