Please don't refer to images such as these as "pics". Pics are snapshots of everyday life. Pictures are a step above and Photos are images in which attention was paid to light and shadow, as well as composition and the correct exposure. this is weird. I have the exact same layout and exact same built-ins in my house in grand rapids. The woodwork was fine with lighter cream colors but with others like the blue we have now the trim looked awful. I painted the trim a warm white and it looks beautiful now I don't miss the wood trim at all. I think it just really depends on what color you're going to paint your walls. I attend Kendall college of art and design in grand rapids, we have like 30 of these chairs between the basement and third floor, I don't think they're anything special but they do connect together and they're pretty comfortable. Ours are a nasty washed out red wine color and I think taking yours black would look nice. But I defiantly wouldn't spend to much doing so. Good luck!
