I live in the Eastern Columbia, and, as I think I raved in an earlier posting about downtown lofts, life here is even better than I'd hoped it would be. Not only am I living in this beautiful landmark, for which I have great affection, but my neighbors are so friendly and fun and helpful. It's a wonderful community living inside a wonderful building. Can't say enough good things about it. And yes, fvlaura, this is indeed the building that Maddie Hayes hung from in the Moonlighting pilot. P.S. I live in the Eastern Columbia building at 9th and Broadway, and am loving it. (I moved from a duplex in Silverlake about a month ago.) I had long wanted to move downtown for the architecture, the urban and cultural environment, and out of a desire to walk more and drive less. It's actually more walkable than I'd anticipated, although there are obviously areas I would avoid on a stroll by myself. I'm finding it a fascinating, exciting place to be. At times, the rich sense of history is truly intoxicating, and yet you also feel like you're witnessing the re-birth of the city (which raises some tough questions, of course).
