How sweet! I got my name (Posy) from my dad calling me Rosy Posy as a baby - the Posy part stuck and here I am 36 years later with that as my (legal) first name.

I have to say, as a photographer who is in people's homes every weekend, when I saw this post my first thought was "I want to shoot in that house!" LOVE all the color and textures! It's beautiful and oh-so-Portland!

Simply gorgeous! I have 2 questions for Mike, Mandi & Mirabelle: Where is the LOVE print/canvas from? Do you have a photographer for that sweet baby? (That's a giant hint here, that you need to hire me to come photograph that adorable baby in her stunning nursery!)

I have a large opaque plastic tub in the basement. My girl is only three, so this is the first year I have had to make an effort to hide them. I imagine a few years from now I'll have to be even more subtle.

Isn't the party enough? I don't understand the need for favors. I think it teaches our children to expect unnecessary gifts. The birthday party is about celebrating the person whose birthday it is. If there are activities, crafts, cake, etc., for everyone to enjoy, why do they need to go home with a gift as well? I think this tradition encourages our children to be consumers rather than givers. I recently heard from a friend about a child who had such a meltdown after going to a favor-free party, that his parents stopped at a store to buy him a toy. Really?! This is not what I want my child to look forward to about parties. Parties should be about celebrating life, good friends and loved ones.

Yep, one of my most favorite things about being in this family's home (http://photoposy.blogspot.com/2010/08/documenting-your-life-portland-oregon.html) was the fire place in little Oliva's room.

I triple back up my photos but have not printed anything since my 16-month-old was 3 months. Oh, and I'm a photographer!!

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so, so, so sad about this. Devastated over a magazine cancellation? Yep, that's me. This is just awful. I love Wondertime. I love the gorgeous photography, the thorough and thoughtful articles, the creative kid friendly crafts, and the access to Catherine Newman's brilliance and insight.

You know, I really wanted to love these, but I bought a rattle for my daughter and the coating chipped off. I am reassured that she wasn't eating chemicals, but you know, I still didn't want it to chip off in her mouth.
