bepsf-- as a "fool" who wastes my life "watching that crap," i wonder-- is it really any worse than wasting ones life publicly, patronizingly judging those with differing tastes? i think most would agree-- your questionable cultural snobbery is potentially more harmful than my reality tv appreciation. but what the heck do i know? i'm just a fool.

bepsf-- you are obnoxious. i considered being really smart and smug about this, but sometimes one gets a little more mileage out of bluntness.
all you have proven with your "Um - it says in the photo right below this" bs is that you can read.
see, something can APPEAR old that is not necessarily vintage. for instance, many old movie posters are reprinted and then sold (these are called "reprints"). yet they retain that vintage look. sometimes they are even backdated! this also happens with clothing (a la many t-shirts sold at Urban Outfitters). it's actually quite common, bepsf.
so although the map says "Prepared in 1964..." it is well within the realm of possibility that it could've been a reprint. just because someone makes a claim, well that doesn't necessarily make it so. the writer cannot be blamed for being unsure if this is an original or a reprint. but you, bepsf, can be blamed for packin' some serious 'tude. it's very unbecoming. next time, before quoting something to rudely make some inconsequential point... may i suggest a little research first? not even research. a little thought beforehand would probably do the trick.
i guess i did get smug. sorry bepsf. but you had it comin'.

If this post is "ugly"... well your comment, troll, is the ugly cherry on top. Kudos! Concise, yet oh so bitter. Nothing like unfounded, playground-style name calling. You should be proud of yourself!

"Seems made up for the purpose of a blog post to me." Why, van winkle, would you inject a dose of negativity onto a blog when all you're presenting is your unfounded, fact-free guess work? I get it-- everyone has opinions. Yours, quite frankly, just seems irrelevant. To insinuate the blogger is essentially lying... well that's downright nasty. Unless you know something that I don't. Do you? Or are you merely on a witch hunt?

In response to jooly: a point, yes. Yet you fail to take into account that "several nights in a hotel" is a finite period of time. Meanwhile, purchasing the duvet, sheets and curtains-- that's forever. I think the point of this post is to create an "escape" within our own homes. Cost is secondary.

i think this idea is brilliant! it's crazy how negative some people get on these boards. it's a simple idea! a suggestion! use it or don't! i plan to. another great post, beth!

ummm... yeah. acquired at concerts. tell me Palmetto, what do you find strange about that concept? see, often times musicians perform live. and that, Palmetto, is called a concert. and if one is ballsy enough (Palmetto clearly excluded from this group), one could ask the drummer for a drum stick. simple enough concept for me. but then again, i have a master's degree.

it sounds like Palmetto's relationships are lacking. not much of a conversationalist, i guess. what if each drum stick tells a story? what if each one was acquired at a concert? what if they once belonged to the drummer of def leppard? i'd like to hear the tales behind the sticks. i was always told to never judge a book by its cover. sounds like Palmetto kinda just takes things at face value. what good has ever come from that? huh, Palmetto?

this is my fave. and it's not even close. drumsticks in a vase is a rad, unique idea. and the pics and text were purrrrfect (loved the kitty cameo!). who is this ladykrock character? sounds jealous that she didn't have the idea first. it's ok, ladykrock-- just do it and claim it as your own. that's what i'm gonna do! great post, Beth!
