Face down. I don't really know why. I don't have to worry about dust because they're in a closed cabinet. And I'm not worried about the rims getting dirty from the cabinet because my cabinet is clean... So I guess it's just out of habit. I probably picked it up from one of my college roommates.

I keep mine down. Looks nicer and prevents that mist from coming out when you flush. Plus I don't want my cat to fall or anything else to fall in.

I have the exact opposite problem. I'm constantly having to remove music/videos/photos/apps from my phone because I keep filling it up. Meanwhile, after upgrading my laptop's hard drive I have plenty of space on it (plus additional external drives for backup and storage).

You can never have too much hard drive space.

I use Mozy for off site backup to go along with my harddrive back up. You should aways keep your really important information in two different locations, just in case.

I've been using my cell as an alarm clock since I went to college. I do agree with with moving it out of arms reach though. I find if I have to get out of bed to hit the snooze button then I'm much more likely to stay up.

Also, I use my phone to read books with before bed (I love the Kindle app), listen to music, and occassional as relaxation/sleep aid.

I'm sorry, but in what way is her setup high tech? She has an iPhone (btw, the iPhone 4 is the latest model, iOS 4 is the operating system which also runs on iPods and the iPad... just being nick picky here) and a Bose dock for it. I don't consider an Ikea desk lamp or a plastic side table high tech (though they do look nice).

Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful room, but saying it's tech friendly seems like a bit of a stretch to me...

Like danielhertlein, I'm curious to know if the study was done on the exercise ball chair or an actual exercise ball. I never really got the exercise ball chair, taking the ball off the floor and putting it in a more stable chair seems like it defeats the purpose of using the exercise ball in the first place.

Why are OK Go videos always so awesome? Doesn't hurt that I like their music as well.

I'd go with a 15" laptop myself, well, if you actually plan on using it as a portable computer, not a desktop replacement. I currently have a 17" MBP, and while I love the screen space I find that it can be a bit bulky to lug around all the time, plus you'll have a lot more versitility in case/bag selection. I'm planning on going to a 15" when I get my next laptop (hopefully sometime in the next few months).

I'm not even going to get into a Mac vs. PC debate. Just get whatever you think is the best value.

To me it depends. If you're moving into a brand new place I look at it as a blank slate. If you don't have a lot already and have resources to invest in new things to decorate with (not necessarily brand new, but new to you at least) I'd think the Small, Cool Spaces would be a better bet. It's filled with pictures to provide you with plenty of ideas on how to make a space look great, especially if you have limited space.

If you already have everything and are just moving it to a new place then the Cure might be better. The Cure to me is more so to improve the space you already have. Many of the steps focus more on decluttering, cleaning, optimizing your arrangment and making a few small improvements.

If I was moving itno a brand new place, I'd go with Small, Cool places to start off, then do the cure after I'd been living there for a bit... there are always things in your home that could use some improving.

I keep a dry erase board on my door. It allows me to write notes to myself so I don't forget things on the way out, espcially in the morning. Also, it can double as are when I, or my friends, are so inclined.

I once lost a big chunk of my music(thank god for software that can pull music off of an iPod), all of my photos and a lot of other important files because I neglected to have a proper back up. Never again.

But yeah, ever few months seems too long to me as well. I would say to back up once a month at the least (weekly would be better). I have an external HD with a bootable back up that I used to updated everynight, but now I just update it once or twice a week. I also use Dropbox for files that I want to share/sync with other systems and I use Mozy to do offsite back ups incase of a fire or something like that.

I currently have 3 external hard drives (which will go up to 4 whenever I stop being lazy and replace my laptop's hard drive, putting the old one in an external case). I use two of them for backing up my two computers and one for video storage. However, in time I'd like to have a nice large raid array for storing videos/music/movies on.

Maybe they just really like the number pad? But I agree I would ditch the keyboard in that situation.

I think it looks cool and is a cool concept. Not big on the colors, and I'm pretty sure it would be too uncomfortable.
