Being in the furniture industry, I can vouch for what Maxwell said. Prices HAVE been driven so low in the past 10 years, it's ridiculous.

We've seen tons of little shops close because their designs have been copied down to the fabric by the large furniture importers. Then they dump their prices so low that the small guy is forced to lower the quality until the point they simply give up.

The average American worker can't compete with the guy getting paid way less than a dollar an hour in China or Vietnam.

For us online retailers, keystone pricing isn't possible anymore when csn, ivg, and the rest sell for wholesale + shipping + $1.

Their stuff is pretty good. All their casual convertibles have pocket coils and steel frames. The price range for casual convertibles go from 500 to 1200.

It's Chinese leather.
It's not the best, but it's good enough for the price.

That bed is not worth 900 dollars.
400 at most.

In LA, you can get a 24x27x6" 2.5 pound sandwich cushion with dacron wrap for about 50 bucks each. In New York, it is probably double, if you look around.

If the building is old (from the 70's and bellow), then there is a big chance that the manufacturer doesn't exist anymore.

Your best bet would be to make a mold.

You can either search all over craigslist in hopes of finding a matching base or throw it away and buy something much better.
