I do the same, swordspoint. The girls love to empty the drawers out and put everything back, and their drawers are emptied out and rewashed so often anyway, I don't bother folding. When they get a bit bigger and their clothes are less fiddly, we'll start. When they were tiny I used the stacking flat unfolded items method.

So cute!!! And yes, our Ikea crib is way better than the more expensive one we previously owned. I thought they looked crappy until we bought one and it's actually been really great. Too bad I'm already stocked on cribs.

They're not as sleek looking, but I'd go for one with the toys and lights/whatever. Babies love that stuff even if it doesn't go with the decor. My daughter still has fond memories of the little spinning starfish on her bouncer!!

My daughter will eat any veggie if it came out of a frozen bag and has no seasoning on it! She just doesn't like fresh veggies that we make in an adult manner! Oh well, I say, the frozen ones are healthy too. She will seriously DEMOLISH a bag of frozen carrots or peas in no time flat.

My daughter is only 2, so she still needs help bathing, but I enjoy playing and talking with her too during bathtime.

I use a mesh drawstring bag too. My daughter has fun putting all the toys in it right before she gets out of the bath.

I think this room is very cool-looking but not kid-friendly at all. Am I the only one? Everything looks like twigs and rusty old metal.

Agreed, I'd just give it to the boys and let them have at it! Maybe paint it all white so it's a blank slate.

Oh my god, I LOVE the story about the Terrible Towel!!!!

My 22 month old sleeps with her baby doll and a rotating cast of stuffed animals - usually Minnie Mouse - every night. Occasionally she will also bring Little People or, my favorite, pictures of people to bed with her.

I don't think it would necessarily work for a kid this age or an older baby, but if you have your baby in a crib right off the bat it would be great for a newborn. Our bassinet has little pockets like that on the side where we'd keep pacifiers, a thermometer, suction bulb, and the stethoscope (our daughter had a heart condition, so not everyone would need that one!). It was great to have all those things on hand!

Just putting a hand towel or bath towel in the bottom of the tub/sink provided enough traction for mine at that age.

Third the inflatable rec... just get the kind that has a built-in "boxspring" so it's not totally on the floor. They are surprisingly nice and comfortable these days!!

I always nursed on the living room couch... baby's room was too boring!! After she got older and more efficient a cozy chair in her room was fine, but otherwise I wanted to be where the action was!

I lived in a room smaller than this when I was in college, and I think the key is to NOT overload it with furniture, especially tall furniture, and just go with the bare minimum. It's more important to have SPACE in a room where you're going to spend a lot of time, like kids do in their bedrooms (or I did in a shared house). Instead of a large dedicated desk, I used a large wooden tv tray or a lap desk to do my homework while sitting on my bed. I would put the bed along the 7'3" wall, and probably just a normal bed, or maybe one that had drawers but not very tall. A custom shelving/storage solution for clothes, books, and toys could go in the alcove to the left, and I'd probably leave the wall with the window pretty empty, or either put a chair or some low storage like a trunk or small bookcase there. As he gets older he won't need as much storage but space to sprawl and lounge will be appreciated.

I like it. It's a bit over the top with all of the accessories and the pink walls, but so is every set of bedding they show in any catalog.

I second Pencils comments on the crib quilt. We used it for all of those things and now that my daughter's 1 and still in the crib, she actually uses it as a quilt to sleep under.

This room is definitely cute! Love the bedding.

I've got a combination. There are a ton on my computer, a nicely edited selection on Flickr for all the grandparents and faraway friends and relatives to keep an eye on, and after V's first birthday in a few weeks I plan to compile the best of her first year into a printed book from Blurb or a similar company. I love the idea of having them printed in a bound book instead of messing with fiddly prints!

Actually, I guess we also have prints made too, though, which we mail to her Great grandparents who aren't on the internet.
