What is scary is I am still using a DOS prompt order entry system at work. No one sees the purpose of replacing it.

I remember when tucows was relevant. I remember certain websites that have vanished over the years.

I also remember when I got my first Walkman. I remember when microwaves were huge and they weren't that common.

I keep 2 layers of coverlets on our bed, I sleep under 2 and he sleeps under 1! We also buy King to fit our Queen matress. Works well for us. (that is if he even bothers to get under the sheets, he is that man wearing shorts in January in Toronto!)

I'm in Cambridge ON (45 Min west of Toronto)

The last place we rented was 700 sq/ft and it was $850 a month. We paid for our utilities. It was in an ok neighborhood but it also meant we only needed 1 car vs 2.
We also managed to get a great fenced in yard with no neighbors behind us.

We now own for the same monthly payment a few blocks away.

The largest problem now with the whole "organic, safe for the environment" marketing phase is that they don't seem to have to back it up to put it on the market.

Many places have no rules or regulations as to what is safe. I'm not a raid person, but I know my BIL is and he will be very surprised how toxic this stuff is.

Considering how many places are banning pesticides and herbicides you would think this would be up there with it.

We got a new bed when I was 5 months pregnant. I am 5'4 and the bed comes up to my waist.

At first I needed a stool to get on, but my husband at 6'3 loves the height of the bed, and by 9 months I didn't need help getting on the OB's table.

We lock it at bed time.
I have friends in really rural areas that never lock their homes. Locks only keep the honest people out... if they want in they will find a way in.

I will always prefer a real tree. That being said, our city mulches them afterwards and offers the mulch for free to anyone who wants it. We are also able to cut our own, so they aren't cut waiting for someone to buy them only to be garbage if no one does.

We have blue and green bins here. Blue are for plastics and cardboard ect. where the green is for composting. They accept 99% of food waste and more than what you would put into your compost.

Some neighbor communities have to pay for bags. My friends who live there find it actually cheaper to bring it to the dump vs paying the fee. (the community doesn't offer recycling either)

Offering the choice of pick up and then charging for bags is completely acceptable.

I live outside the Greater Toronto Area and I pay for my 700 sq townhouse. 2 bedrooms 1 bath 900 a month plus utilities. I think many of you pay great prices for rent!

In Toronto, by law they have to charge you .05 for a plastic bag. Many of the other cities and communities close by have done the same. National retailers have also grabbed onto this motto and across Canada have to pay for a plastic bag.

Does it make me remember my reusable ones? yes it has. Does it make everyone remember? No, my MIL will pay .05 for every bag in her grocery order. Sometimes adding 5 dollars to the cost of her groceries.

@cashew I have lived in Alberta Ontario and New Brunswick Shoes off is pretty common across Canada

I have to convince people it is ok to keep their shoes on especially when we are having an outdoor party. Come in and grab what you want and leave don't worry about your shoes.

My daughter doesn't know anything but to keep her shoes off as soon as she gets in the door. Many doctors offices also require a shoes off policy.

I never understood the whole well my socks have holes in them I don't want to take off my shoes. Buy new socks cheaper than me cleaning or replacing my carpets

My husband and I have been together almost 10 years, he sleeps on the blankets and I sleep under them (he is another insane person who would sleep with the windows open and a fan on him in Newfoundland in the winter, not exaggerating we go to Newfoundland to visit family and he does it) It works for us.

My daughter will be starting Kindergarden at the age of 3. (she will turn for shortly after)
She is fully potty trained, and has been for some time. I don't understand how you can not be trained at 7?

Shoes off as soon as you walk into the house, but another Canadian here.

My 3 year old insists on taking her shoes off everywhere we go, visiting family in NYC to her it was weird to wear shoes in the house.
