Personally I only really use the TV in the bedroom for watching films on, because I love cuddling with my boyfriend in bed and watching a film. It's so much comfier than watching it on the sofa I think. However, except for that, I could take it or leave it. I don't watch much TV as it anyway, I'd much rather spend time on my laptop, reading, baking or doing some crochet!

I use mine for coffee mostly, but once I decided to try some herbal tea in it. Word of warning - make sure it is thoroughly cleaned first! Like perfectly scrubbed and soaked. My tea tasted of coffee blergh.

I bought one of the lego silicone cake moulds and I was SO excited. I experienced what everyone else has said: sticking, hard to clean, hard to get out. It didn't come out in a lego brick shape at all :( so disappointing. The packaging said not to use any non-stick on it either, cos it was already non-stick....supposedly....

Hmmm a turkey sandwich is always one of the best things about christmas (I'm in the UK). I want it to be christmas NOW! Leftover pork is also really good with stuffing and apple sauce, slightly warmed up. Hmmmm.

I only found out the other week that in america 'cider' isn't actually alcoholic! I found it so funny. We have so many ciders in England, they're getting to be even more popular now. I like some, like kopparberg (which is a Swedish one you can get in Ikea or in most pubs and supermarkets here). I don't like most commercial ones like strongbow though. I love using cider in cooking, like with pork or in apple cakes. I don't think american cider (not hard) would give it the same wonderful taste really.

I don't really peel carrots, unless I'm having them just alone boiled. But in a stew I just chop and throw them in. It's partly laziness and partly not wanting to waste anything! Hehe. I don't know how you could not peel a butternut squash unless you were roasting it, but in a soup wouldn't the skin be too tough to blend? I don't know.

I have this every week on my sunday dinner, carrot and swede mash. My Nana also uses it in lots of Spanish stews - definitely not a mystery food in our house! Haha

using them in trifles sounds good, or maybe making a bread and butter pudding using them instead of bread. i would definitely suggest freezing them though, i freeze cupcakes all the time and then defrost and frost them, they work fine. of course then you'll end up with no room in your freezer... you could also use them for fondue. or make cupcake kebabs.

if all else fails though, the rotary system sounds good to me. then it becomes more of a treat than an inconvenience to eat them! even i could definitely get fed up with cupcakes if i was given that many.

I once made an apple and cider cake that told you to soak the sultanas overnight in the cider - it was delicious!

My two dogs are allowed on the sofa and the beds. It's become routine for my dog Pepe to join me in my room on my bed when I'm doing some uni work in the evening! Infact he's on my bed right now. Sometimes both dogs can be found on my bed snuggled together! They are Yorkshire Terriers so they don't moult, I think if they did I would try not to let them on the bed so much! Coarse dog hairs itch me so much, as do cat hairs.

Like someone said above, we have them trained to get in their baskets when we're eating or when we tell them to. It's hard when we have vistors who aren't too keen on dogs because they do jump up all over them on the chairs to say hello! They get so excited. Most guests are understanding though and become besotted with them haha.

When the youngest dog was a pup and she got big enough to jump onto the kitchen table chair, she did lots and then jumped on the kitchen table! Once we found her snuggled up on the table with some laundry we'd just brought in. She's got out of that habit now after we just shouted at her and made her get down whenever she did it.

I've done this before! I did it for my Grandad's birthday because it was on the friday and I had a superbusy week ahead, so I made it the weekend before. Really good time saving tip. Good idea to do it with cupcakes too, I hadn't thought of that before! I freeze buttercream sometimes when I have loads left over though.

NightVale - in England we don't really use the word 'Butt' as much as you do in America, so if the street was named say 20/30 years ago it wouldn't have had any humourous connotations. It was probably named after the original meaning

butt
1   /bʌt/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [buht] Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun
1. the end or extremity of anything, esp. the thicker, larger, or blunt end considered as a bottom, base, support, or handle, as of a log, fishing rod, or pistol.

In St Andrew's there's a little lane called 'butt's wynd' which always makes me giggle.

In England it tends to be about the first or second weekend in December I think, anytime before december seems ridiculous to me! Each year our street is getting more and more lights outside, usually just some fairy light trimming but more houses are getting them. I like walking through at night and looking at them all.

We don't get a real tree anymore because of the pets, but when we did we could never get one early because it would be spineless by christmas. My sister gets one though and we visit a nearby forest that sells them and has a special christmas market and stuff on - it's a nice tradition.

I do it usually in the morning! Because I'm a student I have lazy mornings so I sit up in bed with my laptop and do some browsing or some research. I am doing it right now! In the evening though I usually prefer to read a book and wind down.

ah these are so pretty, it makes me wish we had a bigger halloween tradition in england but we've just copied off america really. no-one decorates their houses though and if i put a pumpkin outside it would probably get stolen!
