I HAVE TO DISAGREE. Daylight CFL is nothing like Daylight incandescent. There should be no blue, the blue should be filtered out. Daylight CFL light quality is exactly like that of a cold tube light. Eeyech.

Reducing energy is all very well.

However, incandescents have a long way to go. Following needs to be addressed:
- Price
- Ecological disposal
- Quality of light is not at par with the different choices of incandescent bulbs, like natural light, neodymium bulbs, etc.. Very limited in the output of the bulbs.

Incandescents are not there yet.

If you choose to have a collection, it should be cohesive. Blank space looks very clean. It looks a little bland today because of the color (background and cabined wood). Perhaps you may choose to color the cabinets, and wall, and make the cabinet pop, and leave the cabinet top empty. Let the neat and clean cabinet be the star.

Here's another DIY idea ( a different look ):

Buy a circular base of your choice. Buy birch logs. Nail / glue the logs lengthwise to the base. VIOLA !!!!!

Works with bamboo; any kind of awesome wood. Or awesome veneer on pine.

Steam clean first. Then make changes ....

Dust comes from skin flakes

The table is beautiful. The chairs are ghastly - in comparison to the table.

Varnish it. Make it like a Nakashima piece. The Beauty is in the wood.
Paint the chairs.

This is not what you asked for, but I am sharing what I do to avoid this problem altogether.

I wash such items in the delicate cycle in cold water with woolite. If there is serious need of a wash, I soak the item with lukewarm water mixed with woolite, and wring the item before washing.

I do not machine dry the item, but air dry the item, or dry it on a gentle heating towel rack.

The items last forever and remain as beautiful as always
