My cast iron tub is chipping too. I'm thinking of using this product : http://www.vintagetub.com/asp/product_detail.asp?item_no=VT-1 However, the surface underneath the chips looks just fine and I'm wondering what if I peeled it all off... I have no experience with a peeling tub. Does anyone know what lies underneath the porcelain finish and why I can't just peel it off and leave it like that? I found a provencal soap at Marshals. Sounds like not the place to buy soap, but nonetheless it was wonderful. Petit Olivier from Provence, scented by Mimosa flower. It was by far my favorite soap, but I have no luck finding it anywhere. I have a really greedy Chocolate Lab. He will eat anything left around him unattended. One time he got into the trash and ate many many bad things including aluminum foil that smelled like a roast and a few corks from a bottle of wine. He was sick for days. He'd throw up in the closet which we made into a library and fill it with an inch of vomit at a time. Pieces of aluminum and cork included. He also likes to "pick up" things on his walks. One time he brought home another dog's turd and dropped it on the rug in our living room right when we got in. I didn't notice he had anything in his mouth until we got home. I was at an outdoor/indoor party in Cape Cod a couple of years ago and witnessed a Chocolate Lab snatching a whole wheel of camembert chesse. People gasped .... I'm about to start my upholstery project and I was told to go to Zimmans in Lynn. You can check their website at zimmans.com. I have not gone yet, but I was told they have an amazing selection of fabrics. My impression is that the store is not cheap. I bought old travel books in a used book store from 1930s Austria. They had absolutely beautiful old fold out maps in the book. So I cut out an old map of Vienna and framed it.
