I am truly loving my new workspace! Mounted a bit on the higher side (32 1/2"), it gives me plenty of drawer storage and even allows me to sit cross-legged. I have yet to fill up all of the drawers!
I am also enjoying using my magnetic wall for inspiration, but as stated above, working with magnetic paint was definitely a challenge. There is a definite learning curve for using the magnetic paint...constant stirring, light sanding in between coats, 1/4" nap roller and more. I can post a DIY, if anyone is interested. In the end, it was simply not as magnetic as one would expect. It took me 3 coats of the Rustoleum's Magnetic Primer, then 2 coats of Benjamin Moore just to get my wall semi-magnetic. In the end, it is working for me (using Mighty Magnets) because I am using it for inspiration tears, but it will not hold multiple sheets or heavy stock.
Lastly, the desktop cost was under $3000, and so worth it! Thank you Nick!

The screen is by Matt Gagnon (http://www.mattstudio.com) I actually purchased it for a client/friend to use in a temporary showroom space. When we moved into the first floor, he gave it to me as a house warming gift. Thank you David!

Thank you everyone for your kind words of encouragement!

The original concept for the kids' "stacked bunks" came from an amazing architect friend of mine, Fanny Mueller (fannymatthew@gmail.com), who consulted us on this project and also drew up all of our floor plans. Our problem, which is typical of many narrow brownstone buildings, was having two rear rooms side by side, one relatively large with two windows and the other much too small to be a bedroom. We solved the issue of the floor space and light by centering the built-in bunks on the window. My girl's bunk opens to her room on the bottom and my boy's opens on the top in his room.

Below are my sources you requested:

Dining room chairs - I have had them a long time, but I believe they were vintage Arne Jacobson , probably a limited edition because I haven't seen many around, but I have seen them. I am an interior stylist and am constantly looking for furniture for clients, so, vintagepgh, I will let you know if I find any in my travels.

Love, love, love the artwork. Who is the artist of the red/white abstract painting in the dining room shot?

Yes, Sleek1 I understand how the lucite disc out of context could look superfluous. They repeat once your inside the townhouse and serve as a contemporary theme for the holiday decorations. I created oversized 3'-4' laser-cut lucite sihlouettes of iconic christmas ball shapes, a tree decorate with only clear balls, a coffee table center piece made from clear plastic ice cubes, lucite discs on all garlands & wreaths, etc.

I wrote instruction for the wreath using boxwood evergreens, which I figured to be the most easily found for a majority of readers. I did choose yew for this particular installation. Various evergreens could certainly be used...experiment with what you have available & have fun!

mango-tango,

I got my brasswear from justime.com.tw, but they are a Taiwanese company, so it wouldn't be worth it to order just risers/supply tubes from them. I know that homeclick.com has a good supply of flexible & fixed risers in a variety of finishes.

The shower unit & faucet are from Justime, a Taiwanese company that I discovered at The Kitchen & Bath show a couple of years ago. They have modern, European-style bath and kitchen faucets for $25 to $150. They sell to the trade, but I am not sure if they sell to individuals. Check them out online @justime.com.tw.

Yes, it is a 5 x 6 room without any barriers or curbs. It did required a shower pan under the entire floor and a precise pitched to the drain. My tiler, Rob Mara, (www.thegroutandtileguy.com), who was great by the way, also installed the pan & carefully did all of the waterproofing.

Budget was an issue, but being an interior stylist, I knew where to look for bargains on products that would last. The Toto toilet was $279 new on Ebay. The Duravit Sink was $309 on Homeclick. The Broan bathroom cabinet was $182 from Kitchen source. The Cram Cream towel is from Loom on seventh ave. in Park Slope. The subway and the pennies are from Bella Tile in the East Village.

I realize that the open shelving might not make sense out of context. I like mixing it up to prevent things from getting to sterile and it works with the mix of modern and eclectic going on in the rest of the house.

Oh, our funny cat is Lucy!
