I think the counter space gained by the Northland is worth the extra expense but have no experience with the brand.

I would also flip the positions of the dishwasher and sink so that you gain a longer stretch of space. If you ever want to roll out dough or assemble a lot of food at once you don't want the sink right in the middle. Make sure your dishwasher can handle pots and pans too, 9" is tight to scrub a large pot.

I think Swissmiss's list is really great. I loved having my Daphne bath, it helps to hold the baby in the sink or tub. As much as I hate the name, My Brest Friend Pillow was also essential for the first few months.

Thermal stretch-y receiving blankets were the only blankets that held my little Houdini swaddled.

California Baby all-in-one soap, lotion and diaper cream are totally worth the expense.

This room is so gorgeous! Little Elsie is one lucky girl!

Holy Crap! What a great space. I love that its in Chinatown and you used a Chinese red and had those little Chinese figures as pulls. Very smart to paint the windows to keep the theme going.

The bathroom is dope!

I second the vertical subway tile application suggestion. Kelly Wearstler did a really cool bathroom with standard size subway tile on the vertical. Check out her first book (Modern Glamour) from the library for a picture.

A herringbone pattern would be cool too, and classic with a twist. It would be very elegant with the marble floor.
