As a cyberpunk lover, I really hate seeing "leet speak" in the same sentence as "princess as a password". What is the world coming to?

PS: Then again, Bruce Sterling said once that if it is on Wired's cover today, it'll be on teenage girls' t-shirts in fifteen years.

I think you are exaggerating. Especially with the "use your cell phone instead of security alarm panels in the entryway" part. Oh, yes, and with the part about a lovely old couple not watching tv on their porch (have you never seen people sitting on their balconies on warm summer nights enjoying their meal in front of a tv before? even being a purist should have some limits)

I was going to say the same as the first comment, I thought these rugs are kind of all-over-the-world folk-modern pieces. Here in Greece their name also means "the tatter ones" :)
That being said, I really like the specific blue hues in the pics.

Whatever you do, make sure it's still 80ish - you won't find a floor plan like this anymore ;)

The first pic might be nice but I can't help thinking "open-air closet = NO closet"... Simply too much dust.

First, your advice is really great, original and practical!

"Add an accent wall"
I can proudly say that the best decorating idea I've ever had was painting one of the living room walls in purple :) (The rest is light yellow. Yes, it looks terrific.)

Not bad at all. I'd add pajamas and everyday medicines. And I'd wish I could pack such a compact toiletry kit.

Very enjoyable quizzes, I wish I knew about them when it took me one half and a month to decide on living-room colors :)
They all gave different results but this is irrelevant :p

I clicked on several of them, full of hope, but they're really very awkward (are they rules? a story? what is this?) and not funny at all... Not useful either, not under any kind of definition.

You might have just changed so many things for me. I'll try it at home in an effort to cut down on the mindless surfing hours (and cellulite).

Oh, the St.Elmo pics are grrreat! One day I'll gather the courage to do something as beautiful as that. (Minus the neon graffiti, probably, but I don't know:)

I have a little scoliosis and I swear by hard mattresses. Imho they don't compare to anything softer, and you know the moment you wake up :) (For sure, it shouldn't be as hard as floor, but definitely not on the soft side.)

Ehm... doesn't having no icons on the desktop border on the neurotic? Computers, desktops and icons are all there for a purpose, they're tools, not ultimate symbols of personal ability.

They seem to have spelled out one of the houses that sit somewhere in the back of my skull. Maybe it's the 70's feeling, I don't know, but somehow they did.

Wow! I love them! I've always been fond of mix-and-matching patterns heavy with connotations, and this is one of the finest examples I've come across!
Cheer up people, why should one make the point that this is far-fetched and counter to the culture, _exactly_ when it is made to be far-fetched and counter to the culture? Even if it is too unconventional for you, it was never intended to be conventional. I personally love them even more for smashing the stereotype the post talks about in style.
