can I add one to the pile? I also love to curl up with a real magazine at a coffeeshop away from the kids - I already have to stare at the computer all day at work that I don't want to do it on downtime. I would gladly pay more for a real magazine in hand if it helps these publications get off the ground!

I second darin's suggestion of evernote. it's esp. handy when you're browsing from different locations (um, say, reading AT on your lunch break at work while doing other browsing at home), and allows you to tag pages/photos so they're searchable. and it's free!
and no I don't work for them! it's just saved me a lot of paper from printing out different inspiration and having to spend time to file them into a binder, which I never had time to do, so it all just sat there in a pile. so evernote kept me from going insane that way.

yes I thought this post was going to be an "ode to pearl" due to all the recent closures. no other store compares to pearl having all sorts of art supplies under one roof for their prices. I will really miss walking in with a vague idea of what I need some supply to do for a diy project, walking to the aisle where that type of supply may be, and discovering some crafty product that I hadn't known about before but now can add to my crafty arsenal. now I will have to go to different stores to do the same thing.

I love the crooked frames! what I would love more is to have a job where I have to have my computer and my sewing machine next to each other within arm's reach!

does anyone know whether the san francisco store does something similar?

yes usually I like a more modern look but have to agree with others that the 1st does have more personality - even though it's not my style, the owner's interests really come through. I hope you can adorn your walls/space with some personal items over time!

I haven't clicked through to a house tour on AT in so long b/c they haven't been very interesting, but your place is really, really great! so creative and unique, and I love all the DIYs, esp. your fireplace!
