If you have a set of regular mini-sized loteria cards, you could take the ones you want to a copy shop, copy on color copier that can enlarge to size you want and print on cardstock or have the shop people do a poster size one. Can you tell how old I am from this? Because you probably can scan them and print on home printer as well! DIY rules! Now I'm going to google them and see how much they are going for, maybe get going on that Etsy site...

I love how your doggie's tongue was the exact same pink as the cute pink print pillows in the last shot. I had a vision of taking one's dog to Sherwin-Williams and saying "Match the tongue color please". Also, thanks for your how to live with white upholstery tips!

Spooner68, Yes You CAN make it by hand! I'd recommend using the back stitch for strength. Takes a little longer than running stitch but you get into a rhythm with it. Sewing by hand gives you a wonderful feeling of pride when you're done, and even while doing it. I even think running stitch would be OK, with maybe a back stitch every so often. Unless you're wild in the sack or a hard on linens in general! Happy Stitchin'!

Phew. This is one of those 'if only I'd known' posts. My (ex) husband and I were on a honeymoon cruise that stopped in Istanbul. We went to the Grand Bazaar of course, la,la,la as part of our sightseeing and spent/ "experienced" 2+ hours rug shopping when we had no interest in buying a rug! We simply didn't have the money, but that admission was misconstrued as a bargaining ploy. They finally believed us and let us go, very disappointed. So, do not go up in an elevator to look at rugs casually. It was interesting, the carpets are gorgeous, you learn all about rug-making, feel like you have made life-long friends; if we'd been the market for a rug, I suppose it would have all been fun and worthwhile. Frankly, I think I'd rather buy one at an estate sale or CL!

What I love about color trends is how it introduces or re-introduces various colors into our lives. I don't even have to have it on my walls to enjoy it in the world, in pictures and places I go, etc. Earlier in my life I hated orange. Now I love, love, love it and doubt it will ever be 'out' with me, even if some other color gets center stage color of the year status. Color is a language, a vibrational food, and a joy for me. I know color prefs are personal and yet the older I get, the more colors I like and appreciate: I'm a color slut! I even like gray and beige more now because of how great they make vibrant colors look!

Oops. I have to amend because I was thinking the color was just for that one section of wall. Plus the wallpaper color (great pattern!) would make a huge difference on choice of paint color. So I guess delete one Sweet Vibrations vote. I'd have to see which wallpaper and how much, so I guess the more neutral, plays well with others Spanish Olive gets my vote.

Sweet Vibrations popped for me as top choice for several reasons: mostly because it sings with your gorgeous watermelon table (LOVE it) and the rug. It's juicy like the art on it, and the rest of the room seems very neutral i.e. could handle it's vibrancy. I also think it pulls focus for the eyes from the wall of books, which are a talkative wall treatment themselves. It's a fresh (new) and happy color, refreshing in a lemon-y astringent way.

By the way, how fun it is to see this poll really pull the comments! Color is so personal and yet a universal language. Please please post pic of what you go with!
