I work from home full time. I design and sew bags and jewelry and the largest room of my little flat is my work studio. I can get a lot done, on my time and schedule, but yes, sometimes it's hard to put an end to my work day when a project is not yet finished or when I KNOW my sewing machine is just behind the door - and there's so much to do!
But I love that I can get creative at any time of the day and the week and just open the door and have everything I need for work within my reach. I also enjoy being able to take a step back or a break when I feel uncreative or when I just finished a project and don't want to start another one right away. I frequently meet with other creatives to talk about work, life and projects, so I get my fix of interaction. But yes, it can get lonely sometimes.

Wow thank you, that is really great advice! I love the idea of using the space without having to divide it but I might have customers over every once in a while to discuss their order, so it might be a good idea to have the bed kind of hidden.

I've slept on the KARLSTAD bed sofa for 3 years and it is absolutely ok! Very quickly transfored and storage, I can recommend that one highly!

That looks cool! I was thinking of painting the back panel of the BILLY's in a light grey - so they look a bit more chic - and the back of the BILLY's, that would separate the bed from the rest of the room, in white also.

That's a great idea, I haven't even thought of that. I was aiming for free access to the windows, but it sounds interesting! Aaaahhh, so much to consider! ;)

Thank you everyone for your ideas and tips! It got me very inspired!

My work desk is white, I built it myself, it's basically made from three table tops and underneath I used IKEA kitchen cabinets, also in white. I can attach them either in U-shape, in L-shape or in a long straight shape. WIth this desk I chose white because I usually work with a lot of different colors in fabrics etc, so keeping the desk simple seemed like a great idea. Thanks to you guys, I think what I definitely wanna do is have white shelves, I was thinking maybe BILLY from IKEA, they are affordable and simple looking. SO I can keep up the "scandinavian" white theme as well.

I live in Austria, Europe, and yes it'll get cold pretty soon. The windows are old, but the landlord had double window panes installed, I don't know how you call those exactly, but they were built into the old frames and basically have one pane on the outside and two on the inside - very common in Austria and great for sound- and weather blocking.

I totally get why someone would want to install a bunk bed in order to have more space,
but I decided against it. I used to have one when I was younger and didn't like it at all, the climbing up and down at night when you need to pee... ;) also, changing the bedding was exhausting. I still think even with the bed on the floor I can separate it with shelves and it will be cool.

Thank you everyone!! I will be sure to post photos once I have settled - probably in January, the move will be shortly before Christmas.

@lyonstill: it is large for what I can afford and for what I pay in rent, let's leave it at that! ;)

I work from home, and when I need a break I take it, when the workload and the schedule allows that. Also, I eat my lunch far away from my computer screen and sewing machine, I think it's important to not spend your lunch checking emails and doing work-related stuff, if you can! Often enough I have to power through, though, but in general, I decide when I work and when I take my time off. That's the great thing about working on your own terms. Often enough I work through weekends and late night, but also because I love what I do!

I didn't like it when Path redid their privacy policy, and then deleted my account there. Read it closely and you'll find out that your images can be used by them somehow - I don't remember exactly in which way - and that was enough for me.

Every other month probably I try to have a look at my friends list and delete when neccessary, but also I barely make new friends. I have different groups and a section of people who don't see all of my profile.

but yeah, being able to keep it simpler would be nice, although everyone could keep it simpler by simply not having so many friends and only the important people in their lives.

currently downloading pair! due to my job I am on the road a lot and my boyfriend and I usually don't see much of each other for about 4 days per week. that'll be a nice way to stay in touch even more when I'm gone.

the only problem I see with that is if you ever pack makeup in your bag after you added the magnets. magnets ruin credit and debit cards!

I live in Austria and although some stores carry Oreos here, I had my first one when I moved to the US for a year. I was so disappointed! But then I discovered the Golden Oreos and loved them, still do, and although I am a vegetarian who is really picky when it comes to unhealthy or refined ingrediences, about twice a year I get someone to bring them with for me. And then I enjoy every single one. Aside from that, I prefer baking my own cookies, so I know what's in there AND I can pick whatever I feel like baking. YAY for baking!

I lived alone for about 4 years in between living with roommates and then I moved in with my boyfriend about 3 years ago. We have a very different view on cleaning, cooking, all things household basically, which makes it difficult sometimes, and although I do love him dearly I often miss living alone. We both work from home and although we live in an apartment with livingroom, bedroom and one extra room there are basically two offices in our apartment. I sew and have a lot of things to store; he's a journalist and is usually working on his computer. The place has 818 square feet and it's still super crowded.
