I don't have the slightest idea how to make it, but I wanted to mention that Tillamook also makes a cookie dough flavored ice cream. I'm not sure if you can find Tillamook ice cream on the east coast...? Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Good Question: Help Me Recreate Cookie Dough Ice Cream |

while standing around waiting in a kinko's, a friend pitched a similar concept. i think he should head up a kinko's design team because other than waiting for laundry, i can't think of a place that needs lounge chairs and coffee more than a kinko's. A large floormat from Chilewich might be a good solution. They feel really nice and are made of a durable vinyl, so you can clean them easily (get hair out of it easier than most rugs). http://www.chilewich.com/floormats/index.html Apartment Therapy Chicago | Good Questions: Floor Covering for this Bathroom? |

good post. this makes me realize that while my kitchen isn't quite closet size, it's still in the relatively small size category. yet being open to the rest of my apartment, it definitely needs some work. thanks for the inspiration! looks like an efficient kitchen arrangement! i think it depends on the color palettes you choose for the rest of your home. if we're just looking at the kitchen, i think it would be nice to keep it white for high contrast between the dark wood and walls. then throw in bright colored kitchen accessories. :) Apartment Therapy Chicago | Good Questions: Color Suggestions for the Kitchen? |

If you don't need to have everything right at hand you could store them in old hard-shell suitcases. They would make an artful stack and fit easily under the stairs. I'm not sure what's in the righthand side of the photo, but it would look nice to have a table/desk surface that stretches the length of the wall. You could put wall shelves above and use simple filing cabinets below. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Good Questions: Under the Stair Storage Solutions? Los Angeles |

I think a blue-gray, sort of a dusty slate color, would look really crisp and fresh against the white cabinets. The color of your countertop is quite bold, so I would put a lighter, more gray variation of that on the walls. Orangey-red or buttery yellow accents in art or ceramics would pop with the white and blue as well. Apartment Therapy New York | Good Questions: Color Suggestions for my Kitchen? |

It may not be in your budget or schedule at the moment, but I would suggest sconce lighting down the hallway. It would be much brighter and softer than the current overhead light, which casts shadows. I think it would also make the hallway feel more spacious. Changing the lighting makes a world of difference. Apartment Therapy Boston | Good Questions: Paint Color for Seniors? |

looks like it's taking a considerable amount of your space, too bad. :( here's a funny thought for a funny box--make it into a little bar! if it's sturdy enough, it would be fun to light the bottles from below. you could install glass shelves above it. or, it could be a vanity with a tall bench beside it. i'd say make it a focal point, or curtain it off and try to get as much storage over it as possible. a canopy around your bed and full length curtains at your door would shield light and give you some privacy as well. what a neat buffet! painting or wallpapering the alcove (whole thing, not just the back wall) would define its space. a tall floor lamp with a distinctive colored shade would look really nice. if you do prefer a table lamp, try something a bit larger; in that case i would suggest an off center arrangement; try hanging the portrait over the right side of the buffet. i agree with the former statements about the tray. it's a large enough ottoman that it could double as a coffee table. get a large tray to use for drinks, and put some favorite reading material on it too. something colorful! :) Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Good Questions: Ottoman or Coffee Table?Los Angeles |

the current color of the upholstery, that frosty mauve, is beautiful! it's a rich color but it seems fairly subtle. for a couch of that size, in a room of eclectic pieces, i think it is quite elegant to keep it soft in color.
