My favorite is the Korean dish, bibimbap. Especially in the winter, is a a flavorful warm comfort dish. Most of my dishes are rice 'casseroles' of sorts. Bibimbap, jambalaya, chicken fried rice, etc.

Mmmmmm. Beef cliffs with a river of gravy and mushroom shores... I think I need to be finding some lunch pretty soon.

I would, however, like to see the same creative techniques used with other foods more often. Despite what people think, making the food more attractive to the consumer does help sell it.

Seared sea scallops with grilled onion and zucchini would be a good, quick dish on one of these! Drizzle a little lemon juice over it when done. Mmmmmm.

There is a small Japanese sushi place near my father's house in Joliet, Edo Sushi. My wife simply rates their teriyaki as THE best. A trip to Edo is mandatory if we get anywhere near the South side of Chicago or Joliet.

It took me nearly a year to create the closest proximity to their recipe. Served with either tofu or chicken, Edo's sauce has a perfect pungent and sweet flavor. Not a perfect clone, but enough that we enjoy good teriyaki without driving three hours to get it!

I have some nice buffalo steaks fresh from a local farm that I am sure would not mind a poke or two with a meat thermometer. Top it off with some foil-wrapped onions and portobellos. Hmmmm. Second thought, I am not sure I can wait on a thermometer... ;)

Of all the cooking gadgets in my arsenal, surprisingly, no meat thermometer...

I have been experimenting with grilling vegetables. So far, my repertoire has been limited to zucchini and asparagus, either wrapped in foil or directly on the grate. I have heard of grilled corn, but have not made the leap. Any other veggies that might be good to grill?
