These are very similar to a deco style chair made by Viking Artline out of PA in the 1940's and 50's. the "slipper chair" recommendation is a good one. These chairs are common at flea markets and mid-century furniture stores. There was one for sale at the avenue A flea market on 11th street. The ladies who run the market have in the back corner. I think it was $25. Worth seeing. You can also search ebay for "Viking" chairs as you might get lucky that way.

great.beautiful and simple.i always love the contrast between warm organic wood grain and the cold mechanics of metal.the silver screw heads bug me though.black screws that disappear into the brackets would make this truly complete.

My nephew just turned 1.His favorite color is red.He would love this chair and grow up with an amazing appreciation for design!I know I am shilling a baby to try to get a chair but some chairs are worth that.
