Worst mess ever is probably the aftermath of a very crazy Halloween party, during which I lost my glasses. A friend took them home mistaking them for his. When I woke up, the house was covered in glitter, popped balloons, cracker crumbs, and plenty of beer bottles. I knew I was in trouble when I looked over from the couch and saw my cat eating a popped balloon. I cleaned it up very slowly with lots of pauses.
