Check to see whether any welding repairs have been made. We have an old copper samovar in the family that was repaired in Turkey during the 60's. We've not used it because we don't know whether lead was used in the welding.

I just purchased that exact bed frame from Dream on Futon (http://www.futondreams.com/) which is a different one than posted earlier. They are on the West Coast in Bellingham, WA and have been around for at least 12 plus years that I can remember.

The bed frame itself is great. The slats to support the mattress are made out of a higher quality wood than I've seen before and it overall, the bed has some weight to it. Be aware that there are two different color woods for the frame (where I bought mine). The lighter of the woods is reddish in color while the ebony wood is a bit darker but not black. All the pieces go together very smoothly, a few bolts but mostly just wooden dowels and interlocking beams.
