i totally agree TheGoodBiGirl- it's just it seemed like all of the grander possibilities that i dreamed up required way more time, effort, and $$ than i currently have available :)

also, i think you're all right about adding color and/or texture, so i'll try to work on that next. thanks!!!

hi all, it's alison. thanks so much for your advice! i just moved in, so there's lots of stuff i need (including a desk, DahliaCactus!). the doorway is right across from my bed, so that sort of constricts my options, i think- including the idea of mirrors- it just feels weird, which i guessed was feng shui related.

now, i have a lot of ideas to think about. i'll post back when i do something!

for those of you in sf, i used to work at juicey lucy's juice bar in north beach (it recently closed, how sad), and one of my favorite decor choices in there were the wine boxes on the wall that acted as bookshelves. does anyone in nyc know of a liquor store that might have (and part) with these?
