I have a "recipe" I like to make from the awesome San Francisco restaurant Outerlands. I don't have measurements I just adjust until it tastes right. Good apple cider, ginger juice (which you can get from The ginger People, it's sold at Whole Foods) cinnamon, star anise, lemon slices, and cinnamon. It's so yummy!

hard boiled with salt, standing over the sink. Or poached over polenta, or baked with gruyere and cream with toast soldiers. Yum.

My first thought was a fun, sunny yellow. My favorite color is robin's egg blue/ light aqua, that could be really pretty, with a red door.

I love a real Christmas tree but I don't do one anymore. I have a 36" tall white tinsel tree that I love to death! It is awesome! I love hot pink, bright purple, lime green, red and turquoise ornaments!

Mine aren't quite ready but I have lots of little green ones and many flowers that are ready to give me more! My first one will be eaten with an olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing and some basil. Yum!

Here is a good example, a couple days ago I was using the stainless steel one and making meatballs. I coated the pan with olive oil and once it was hot put the meatballs in. They instantly stuck. What gives?

Laila-
I'm aware of that with meats. But what about when you don't want things to stick?

The only thing I've successfully cooked in the dutch oven is a big batch of soup. Everything else has stuck.

I was inspired over this past weekend. I went to the Sunset celebration in Menlo Park, Ca and bought a meyer lemon tree while there. It's my first ever citrus, do you have any tips or pointers?

Team decor - that's pretty wasteful. Why don't you donate them or sell them on craigslist? Someone might want to recover them.

I agree with everyone. It's not that bad. I would just paint the whole thing one color. Taking off the doors will make it seem less huge and bulky but make sure the insides are in good shape. I wouldn't mind having this, but it's more my style than yours. I think you can definitely work with it and be happy.

I thought they were delish! It could be interesting to add some instant espresso or coffee to the meringue...

My favorite cold summer salad is a conglomerate of several salad recipes I've had over the years. I have no measurements, I just season to taste.

Cooked farro
cucumbers
cherry or little tomatoes
sliced olives
artichoke hearts
grilled, or roasted chicken cut or torn up
salt and pepper
a vinagrette of sorts, just olive oil and balsamic vinegar mixed together.

Mix it all up and it keeps for days in the fridge, if it lasts that long.

Call me crazy, but I'd much rather smell poo by itself than poo and nasty overly fake floral air freshener. It just makes it worse. Now if it's a neutral smelling deoderizing spray that's a different story.

I have a dutch oven that is the Mario Batali brand. I didn't really know anything about dutch ovens before getting it. The quality seems to be fine but almost every time I use it whatever I'm cooking seems to stick or burn to the bottom. The only guess I have as to why this happens is that because of the material it runs a lot hotter than a standard pot. Can anyone confirm this? Should I always keep the heat down a bit more than called for when using it?
