I love it! The colors are great, and I really like the mattress idea.

I too am slightly confused that this is up for debate. Where else can you display pics if not your home? I get not wanting to have a colossal wedding pic up or the like, but I have a few nice wedding pics and lots of beautiful, candid photos of my kids up. It's not overwhelming, but my home feels cozy and personal.

What a timely post for me. I am in the process of trying to start over in our living room. I am planning on repainting, and am keeping an eye out for furniture and such to slowly transition it into my dream room.

My husband and I sleep in the same room, but if we had the space, I would love to have my own bedroom, mostly because of his snoring, but also because I am a night owl, and would love to have my own space to loll about in bed, reading books, etc. I wear ear plugs at night to drown out his noise, and fortunately, me reading with a light on doesn't bother him. I would definitely miss the intimacy of sharing a bed- the spontaneity for snuggles, so I am not sure if I would ever actually do it (if we had a spare room that is).

I would do something like this in a heartbeat, but we are the only house on a long driveway, so no one would get to see the magic that would be my crazy lady window.

Hmmm, maybe the parachute trick (ahhh, grade school field day!) would inspire me enough to actually make my bed.

I recently fell down our carpeted stairs while carrying a laundry basket (thank goodness it wasn't our 2 month old son!) and caught my foot on the rail. I broke one toe, and sprained 3 others. That said, I have fallen down carpeted stairs in our old duplex about 5 times, and wooden stairs in my Grandma's at least that many as well (most notably while carrying a bottle of coral nail polish which flew and shattered dramatically as I bounced gracelessly down). Maybe in my case it's less the stairs and more me that is the problem.

Seems overdone. As a book lover, I have books all over my house, because I actually read them, not because it's trendy. I can see how a few artfully placed books has it's place, but I find it odd that there is a niche market for this.

Very timely post for me, as I am in the throes of re-doing my little guys bedroom, and have been thinking about doing this very thing.
