There are some great warehouses in new jersey that can be found easily on google search if you have transportation. Otherwise, might be worth it to try AIDS thrift warehouse on 6th and Bainbridge. I live and love that area, and have found some great pieces there; cedar chests, imported chairs, headboards, all for steals. I go about once a week though, so i tend to catch a lot of good finds. If you have time to aquire things slowly, you will definitely be rewarded! good luck.

i once resorted to using a linen tablecloth for a towel on laundry day and have used it since... it gets softer with washing and looks so nice in the bathroom. i happened to get mine at goodwill for $2.

i think the white lights on the tree show off ornaments best, but i love the big colored ones too, for outside. Also, I have a few strands that don't work anymore but look great in little vignettes around the house.

I love that AT is posting about new artists who may be under the art world radar. Patrons of the arts make being an artist possible. Besides, I'd much rather be a patron to the arts than to a Thomas Kincaide gallery.

With artists like Koons, some modern art knowledge may be helpful in appreciating the work. Also, what happened to commending patrons of the arts? Should cities stop commissioning murals and other public art as well? geez.
