We're about to endure a kitchen reno, so we will have to live without a stove for awhile. We would also like to try to not eat out too much, so I would like to see some posts about barbecue recipes. I like the idea of cooking on the barbecue because I don't need to be in the kitchen at all and it produces few dirty dishes.

Thanks!

Great, thanks for the reply! I just put my first cabinet together last night and it does feel quite solid. I also found on Ikea's website that each plastic leg can hold 276 lbs, so I would think it's probably safe, too.

Can Ikea cabinets support the weight of a concrete countertop? I was thinking about going with this option as well, but I read online somewhere that you shouldn't put concrete countertops on particleboard cabinets because they aren't as strong. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this? Also, did you use the Ikea legs with the cabinets or did you build your own base? Thanks!

I use salted butter for everything. I've never had a problem and I bake often. I just reduce the salt that it calls for in the recipe.

Pie crust isn't difficult. Just keep everything - your bowl, pastry cutter or knives, fat, etc. COLD. Refrigerate it all for awhile before working with it. You'll get a nice flaky crust every time.

I agree. I would absolutely hate having to sit in someone's second-hand smoke and probably wouldn't use my balcony if that was the case, which would be unfair. It's probably not as disgusting if you're a smoker. Anything you do that affects someone else's life when living in an apartment or condo, whether it's second-hand smoke, or a barking dog in the middle of the night, is going to be an annoyance. At least a barking dog isn't a health hazard.

Hi Griffin,

No, we're not all the same size, and it's true. Some girls benefit more than others. It's great to invite a range of different sized girls, hoping that everyone has at least one match. But it's also an excuse to clean out our closets and drink wine together :)

A group of girlfriends and I have regular clothing swaps a few times a year. Every few months, we clean out our closets, bring our bags to someone's house and rummage through the clothes that everyone else brings. Everything left over is donated to the women's shelter or another charity in need.

I agree with MHOLTGREIVE. Navy or slate grey would look great with that roof. And you can add a pop of colour with the door and some flowers.
