Love it. Totally appropriate for a young couple with young children. There are some formal pieces mixed in with pops of colour. I love grey as a base for walls and furniture.

Ha..2nd picture on the bottom row. That yellow basket in the bottom corner. I bought it. And that booth with the retro tv's? I got a giant pull-down map for my son's room.

We used porch paint and it has held up remarkably well. We live in Southern Ontario...not as much snow as Boston but still quite a bit! That said, I was thinking about using marine paint next time it needs done as well. Have you tried specialty paint stores? Not just the big box places. I would think a local marina might be able to help too.

My 15 month old son has this doll and he loves it (his big sister has had the girl version for years and washes up incredibly well)

ChrisGal...wasn't that the whole point? To show that a makeover can be done by just changing fabrics and accessories?

Kudos to Ikea. They could have kept the same room layout but completely changed the furniture as well. But instead of trying to get us to buy yet more furniture and add to landfills they showed how to have a big change at a much simpler level.

My Le Creuset was passed down from my 98 year old grandmother. She bought it sometime in the 50's or 60's and it's still in near perfect condition. I also have a couple stainless steel serving platters and a stainless gravy boat that were my mom's that get constant use.

Zooper Kroozer 4WD for our first...was awesome but huge and must have weighed at least 60 lbs. Made only in Canada for a brief period.

Quinny Zapp..loved this. Folds up so small that it can fit in the overhead bin on an airplane. A breeze to push.

Now have a Bugaboo Cameleon for our 2nd baby...I do love it but bought it used which I am happy about because I would have hated it if I paid full price. Very cumbersome...I hate how it has to come apart to be folded down.

The Goodbyn has got to be the worst lunchbox ever made. I spent $35 (CDN) on it and I struggle to close the lid let alone having my 6 year old daughter do it. There is absolutely no way that she would be able to take this to school. Whoever the product testers were on this item should lose their jobs.

the freezer works..my mother in law brought home some gorgeous old wooden bowls from the caribbean several years ago and then realized they were infected with termites. We sealed them in very large ziploc bags and left them in the freezer for a month. Haven't had any problems!

You have no idea how excited I am to see this picture. We literally just 2 days ago inherited a table from my husband's grandmother that looks almost identical. Not teak unfortunately but the shape is so similar that I am stunned. It also includes a leaf that pops out when you pull the sides apart. We believe it was manufactured here in Canada sometime in the 60's. The only downside is that it came with 4 matching chairs that look similar to an Eames chair but with hideous seatcovers that I have no idea how or what to re-cover them with. Any suggestions?
