I've been using Enviro-Logs that I found at Whole Foods. They're made from recycled wax cardboard boxes used to transport food. So far, I've been pretty happy with them and they're also a good bit cheaper than the Duraflames. 5 Green Fire Log Options Roundup |

What cool nights? Here in Birmingham, AL, it still feels like the beginning of August. It's supposed to be 98 here today and I could only dream of nights in the lower 60's, upper 50's. *sigh* A Cure for Cool Nights: DIY Personal Fire Pit for $25 The Art of Doing Stuff |

I, for one, love it! Especially the outdoor area. I love all the succulents and cacti. Unfortunately, I can only have a couple in my house, not outside since I live in Alabama, and it's not exactly condusive (sp?) to them (not to mention the fact that my yard is 90% shade.) Great job! Love the succulents! I'm so jealous because I live in the South, and I'm not sure if outdoor succulents are really the right look around here, but I love them anyway! My backyard is pretty sparse at the moment and it's on my list of things to accomplish this spring/early summer. Good job! Just a quick note, if something has a warranty and requires you to fill out a warranty card, do it! Some of these companies are banking on you not filling out the warranty card and then you're S.O.L. if something breaks. Do You Care About Product Warranties? | Apartment Therapy Chicago |

I have a friend who used to intern with Southern Progress (the parent company) and worked with the Cottage Living, Coastal Living, and Cooking Light teams. She works with another media company now, but she emailed me this morning and told me that about this. She said that everyone she used to work with has been laid off. It's a scary world out there. I try to change mine once a month, but sometimes it goes a little longer... I just changed mine this weekend and there was a layer of dog hair on the one upstairs. Gross! Apartment Therapy DC | A Reminder to Replace your HVAC’s Air Filters#comments#comments |

Just wanted to add that in the right room, accent pieces might work, but I think this is one pattern that could get overpowering in a hurry. Apartment Therapy New York | Trend Spotting: Plaid for Autumn#comments |

We use pine straw for mulch and there is plenty of it where we live. Here in the Southeastern US, there is no shortage of pine needles. Apartment Therapy Re-Nest | Too Much Mulch?#comments#comments#comments |
