Since you got the throw in Asia, I would say try to incorporate more accessories and artwork that kind of play off of that theme. If you can paint the walls, do so! Something from the bedspread or a smoky blue-gray could really work. If you can, try changing the pulls on the drawers to something less 90's. Even something like tassels to go exotic could work. My favorite bollards ever are the dragons on Florida State University's campus. There are about four different dragons, some in various states of decapitation, but they're so unexpected, especially for a campus whose mascot is a Seminole Indian, not an Eastern mythical creature. Less embarrassing, more like clockwork: The Doors. Sometimes I would put the movie on just because I knew it would get me in the kitchen washing dishes, cleaning up.
