I'd love some advice about softwood floors in kitchens or floors that need a thorough cleaning. Softwood is treated and stained the same as hardwood but basically is REALLY susceptible to scratches, because it's pine or something similar. Homekeeping 101: Cleaning Your Hardwood Floor |

it's not counter-clockwise that you should adjust your fan...I'm not sure that's possible. You should switch the angle of the blades, which on many models is easily done. THAT is meant to be done in the winter to push the hot air down. In the summer, the blades circulate the cool air. Save Money Now With These Tiny Tech Tips |

my only question is where to buy homasote!? When I went to Home Depot they looked at me like I had five heads. I had always thought this was a common home building product. Where did you buy yours? How To Make a Bulletin Board with Homasote Home Hacks | Apartment Therapy New York |

this is fantastic - I would use it for corporate events, casual affairs and for save-the-dates (which I think are FINE electronically). I would definitely consider it in place of evite. I would love to know if anyone has heard of something like this for greeting cards or thank you notes. I don't mean a hallmark or jan brett card, but something that looks as lovely and stationery-esque as this. Anyone? Paperless Invites: Paperless Post | Apartment Therapy Re-Nest |

@twingirl: I'm not protesting. I hear you. And you have a clever and highly marketable idea for the artist. But the person on the left with the skinny little waist hardly has hips, has a gap between its legs that *real* women rarely have and could be a hipster girl or boy. That looks just like my male friend's butt, and nothing like mine (I'm female). It's a drawing. Etsy Finds: Lovely Love Prints | Apartment Therapy San Francisco |

I live across the street from this house - LOVE IT. They repainted shortly after I moved in and while it was scaffolded, I was sad thinking that it would be painted over something bland. When the new, freshly painted rainbow was revealed, I was thrilled. I love when friends and family from back east visit and see this gem across the way. swiffers don't do much if you have even one pet with fur to add to the mess on your floor. a dust mop is critical, or a broom covered in a microfiber cloth that you can remove, shake out and throw in the wash. If you REALLY love the swiffer, you can buy an orange cotton cloth at Cole Hardware and other stores that is double the size of a swiffer head. Double it up, press it into the little grooves to make it stick, clean with it, then reverse sides, clean again! When it's dirty you can shake it out and wash it. MUCH greener. Thank you all! This is great feedback and exactly what I was hoping for - the good, the bad and the alternatives. I think we'll do it! D30 - thanks for the thorough run-down and the description of the fabric challenge. I also think it's great that apt-ny has the additional color and cover options, but I think I prefer the wood feet to the metal ones. Our apartment is more eclectic than modern, so the CB2 one is a better fit. Apartment Therapy - Good Questions: Quality of CB2's Lubi Daybed? |
