Fruit juice + plain gelatin = tastier and more nutritious jello.
Also second the idea for aspic. You can also mix gelatin into hot broth to thicken it so it will feel like a more substantial soup while still being clear. Homemade popsicles using juice are good. You could also probably make an italian ice with clear juice if you have an icecream maker. Just whatever you can to mix up the textures since honestly that's the worst part of having to be on clear liquids.

These sound wonderful! I rarely drink alcohol (maybe 2-3 times a year) and I love sodas so I'm always on the lookout for new ones, especially those that aren't so sweet.

I just bought some lovely dark slate blue paint and unsanded grout to make my own chalkboard paint. My new art studio/office has a strip of wall above of some built in drawers that was covered with some hideous brown chipboard, I'm going to paint that with chalkboard paint for notes. First however I have to spackle over a bunch of nail holes.

Not in my kitchen but I just moved into a new home and haven't unpacked everything yet and find myself looking around for the wall clock I usually have in my office/studio.

Yeah, total fail from the advertising department. They should have gone the route of showing silver cookies, gold cupcakes, maybe show someone stenciling someone's name or congratulations on a dish. Actual uses that wouldn't freak people out, instead of a gold tomato (seriously if you are going the gold produce route, apples are more traditional i.e. judgement of Paris, Idun's apples, etc.).

Meg Green - I also don't drink and have come up with some nice drinks for my friends when I host dinners (I leave alcoholic offerings up to my boyfriend). Soda water, simple syrup, fresh mint and lemon wedges make a nice drink, you can vary the amount of simple syrup to your own taste. This general plan works with any combination of fruits and/or herbs you might like to use, in the winter simmering cinnamon, cloves, or cardamom in the simple syrup would work well. You can also swap fruit juices for the simple syrup.

If you want to go even less sweet cucumber water is good, just water, sliced cucumber and a little lemon or lime juice if you want. Unsweetened or lightly sweetened iced herbal teas are an alternative for the sweet tea lovers, especially if you kick them up a bit with something like cardamom or fresh ginger.

I like the idea but I certainly would only do this with artwork framed under glass or that is a very inexpensive reproduction because of the potential for food splatters.

Look interesting and fun but not really that versatile. Liberator's wedges and other pillows I think are a better bet, they are easier to store out of sight and can be rearranged in many different configurations. Life is short and sex is fun (and important to a healthy and happy long term relationship).

I don't have my grandmother's recipe on hand but it's made with apples, raisins, beef (or even better: venison), suet, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, lemon juice, zest. Hers comes out as a nice blend of both savory and sweet, I've never been a fan of really sweet mincemeat or versions with no meat at all.

Decorate with them myself? No. If I had kids and they wanted to do that in their room? Why not? A steamer will generally take off stickers without doing damage with the walls so they can be repainted afterwards and I'd never put expensive furniture in a kid's room anyway. So as long as they are old enough to understand that they can only decorate their own space then let them go for it, stickers, paint, markers, whatever.

Would You Ever Decorate With Stickers?

Absolutely but it probably wouldn't be a close friend or family member, just for the reason that they would probably be invited anyway. One of my teenage cousins or a local college kid? Absolutely. Not many of my friends are old enough to have kids of an age to be responsible enough for that sort of job yet or I'd add them to the list too.

I love seeing what the hot new color of the year is. As a designer it influences my choices in releasing new colors for my jewelry and gives me a hint about what current colors may not sell as well this year.

Totally depends on the book. Obviously a rare out of print book would never be used for something like this. A few volumes of Encyclopedia Britannica from the 1960s? I'll cut it up in a heartbeat. Mass produced fiction in poor condition for reading? Also not a problem cutting up.

Negative energy and feelings live within yourself, not your home. Do what you feel is necessary to move on, I don't believe smudging or any other ritual is effective in itself. It's the focusing and intention behind it that is why it works for some people.

If you are ready to let go of the relationship and your hurt from the way it ended you can do it in any number of ways. My personal preference is a thorough cleaning of the house and physically change the space by rearranging furniture, change the curtains, put up new artwork, paint, etc. whatever it takes to make it feel new and fresh for you.

Turkey itself is not harmful to dogs. Too much fat in a dog's diet can lead to pancreatitis which is the risk around the holidays, turkey is no more risky than chicken but some dogs get massive quantities around Thanksgiving. Giving your dog some leftover turkey meat (not the skin which is mostly fat) is fine as long as you are careful not to overfeed your dog.

A toaster oven is a good idea or if you really love dried tomatoes and other dried fruits and veggies pick up an inexpensive food dehydrator (about $40 give or take a bit). It's warm dry air that does the work with drying tomatoes so like people have said above a slow cooker is made to hold in moisture.

The only cooking disaster worth worrying about is not giving your guests food poisoning. Sure a perfect dinner would be best but as long as you're all having fun a few minor issues are fine.

Seitan and tempeh are meat replacements in the sense that they are protein sources but I wouldn't consider them fake meat unless they are used to try to mimic meat. I'm a dedicated meat eater so when I have vegetarian dishes that are trying to fool me into thinking it's meat (soy hot dogs, tofurky, etc) it's definitely not palatable to me. However dishes that use a meat replacement as itself rather than trying to fake being meat it often is quite delicious.

@pedalpowered A lot of commercial honey in the US is produced from bees that pollinate crops and those bees are in high demand from farms. No need to feed them sugar water and soy. I expect this is also the case in other countries as well, however the problem with honey from bees that have been pollinating crops is pesticides (one of the main reasons honey from China isn't supposed to be imported).

Wow, not only did you answer the question badly and get some of the facts wrong you seem to have completely missed the proof reading stage.

A) The reason table salt is called that is because it's used at the table, it the grain size salt shakers are generally made for. Most has iodine in it but you can find non-iodized table salt as well (my table salt is a sea salt with the usual table salt grain size, I get enough iodine in my diet I don't need it in my salt and I don't like the taste).

B) Kosher salt is pretty much the cooking standard in almost every professional kitchen and many home kitchens. Why? It's easy to measure out, generally doesn't have anti-caking ingredients or been iodized (both of which can affect how recipes taste or their texture), and is incredibly cheap.

C) Sea salt only refers to the source of the salt. It comes from evaporating off sea water without a lot of purifying (whereas typical table salt and kosher salt are almost purely sodium chloride because impurities in the salt have been removed, rock salts are another category entirely). Sea salt can come in many different grain sizes and shapes, the source or evaporation method can also affect the flavor and amount of trace minerals in it. There are sea salts which are delicate beautiful finishing salts and sea salts that are good everyday cooking salts.
