I've always had a table lamp in my kitchen; either on the island or counter. I also put a dimmer on it. Bright light when I'm prepping dinner; dim light later. I love being able to walk through the kitchen at night when it's dimly lit. Feels cozy.

I love this post!!! This is about REAL style... not $$$$. I love the bed headboard ~ too cute. Love that the pictures hang askew. Love that the blackboard paint on the walls is rough around the edges. This couple has a true eye for design.

Like Barb in CT.... I thought the home was lovely; but seeing the neighborhood through the windows made me sad. I have painstakingly restored a historic home in a similar neighborhood. Several neighbors have bulldozed small cottages but rebuilt wonderful homes that "meshed" with the historic style. Our slice of heaven has become one of the most sought-after locations in town. I truly feel for their neighbors. What a shame.

I love bandanas. I have many, in different colors, that I use as napkins. It creates a colorful, casual table. Especially for lunch or an outdoor BBQ.

I bought a historic home with a big front porch that had a swing and old wicker furniture. I painted everything black and ordered custom cushions (black/white stripe) from customcushions.net. I was very pleased with the quality and the cost. I also used them for bench cushions and window seat cushions for indoors. They are a great source.

I absolutely love this. The building is a dream come true. Kristin is very sweet to let us have a peak inside. Like the comment before; however, I found the obscenity on the wall to be in very bad taste. I'm surprised an interior decorator with such beautiful taste otherwise would find the need for such a shocking statement.

I would love to know a source for the LONG floating shelves. I haven't been able to find any of that length.

I see pool cues but no pool table. Is that being used as the base for the huge work table? Would love to see the bathroom as well.

Wow. This reminds me of the 70's when radio stations would! cover the walls of the DJ booth with egg cartons. But... it really works.

I love many of the rustic pieces. But it's too cluttered for me. It reminds me of my stepmother's house who's an artist. An very elderly relative came over for Thanksgiving dinner and she innocently asked, "Are we at a garage sale?"

I didn't realize my ex-husband's influence on me until after my divorce. He, along with my teenage daughters, always gave me a hard time about wanting everything organized. They made me feel just like the neat freak husband in "Sleeping with the Enemy". They constantly teased me about it. I worked hard NOT to be too organized.

Now that I'm divorced and my daughters are grown, I relish an organized home. I've discovered that when I'm stressed, I merely clean out a closet or the pantry and somehow I feel better. My life runs smoother and it's a lot cheaper than "retail therapy".
