I have the fitbit one, which you can clip anywhere - it's fantastic and extremely motivating. The loss of the display functions and the altimeter on the upcoming wristband makes it a no go for me.

I've played around with Svpply before, but I find that I really prefer Pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com - the layout is more aesthetically pleasing, the interface more user friendly, and it allows for custom tags. Also, you can easily repin the things pinned by others.

Oh, fantastic! I lived in Ghent for a few years, and I really loved it. This makes me very nostalgic.

Ah, this is wonderful (I was one of the blocked-door squicked from before). The space looks so much more open now and shows off how lovely it is.

I have a 15" flat screen TV that I don't use because I don't have anywhere to put it that looks nice to me (and I'd rather go without). I really like this - it's something I'll consider doing. Like others above, I cannot understand why the TV isn't centered, however - it comes really close to ruining the aesthetic.

This is the perfect example of the most ridiculous kind of excess imaginable. Paying $16 for something that costs pennies and takes seconds to make is an enormous waste of money better spent elsewhere.

Before I bought my vintage sofa, my dog was allowed all over my old couch. Since then she's been banned, and has been fantastic at sticking with her bed out here in the living room. The cats, of course, don't listen as well, so I'm always de-catting the couch. Thank goodness velvet has the right texture.

Oh, no no no. This makes me feel claustrophobic, and it looks a little unbalanced.

delilah, my dog, has a lovely dog bed in my office/studio, but prefers to sleep under my feet/chair. in the bedroom, she has claimed the oversized, low slung velvet chair as her own. henry and june, the kitties, prefer the more tailored velvet covered chair in my studio, the folded quilt on the night stand, and the pink velvet couch. we only have 500 s/f, so they get around.

This is so timely for me! I grew up in a home where cooking was normal, but after I moved out on my own (over ten years ago), it became increasingly harder to maintain that. I'm just starting to realize now how important cooking at home is in reducing my carbon footprint, conserving natural resources, saving money and protecting my health, so I'm over 30 and trying to figure out how to do that for myself (I'm single and live alone) in a way that will make me want to do it forever.

To me, home cooking is cooking with my mom in her kitchen, going through all of her cookbooks, and sitting down to eat with my family.

I picked up the wrong bag so many times that I finally bought the most obvious bag in the world a couple of seasons ago:

I've never seen another one like it on the belt, so I guess it was a good choice!

I'm a photographer who collects vintage cameras. Obviously the history of their use means something to me as part of my craft, and the collection works nicely with all of the framed photographs that I have displayed. As with every collection, part of the joy is in finding the cameras at estate sales and antique stores, along with some unlikely places - my press edition Polaroid Electric Eye was hiding out in a very shady thrift store in a tiny town that I passed through on a road trip last summer. Here are some of my cameras:

I only have two, which I mentioned in my comment on the other post - a small collection of vintage fake mustaches, and a very mod black cat bottle opener - both are useful as well as fabulous.

Does my collection of fake mustaches count as tchotchkes? No? Okay then, here's my groovy black cat bottle opener - you open the bottles with his rockin' guitar - he's weird and wonderful:
