I've made this a few times now. Both cakes and cup cakes. I like taking a box of white cake mix and using the normal recipe with food coloring. The low fat recipe tastes fine but it's all about the colors not the reduced fat. Also try the neon food coloring! I made a cake with 9 different color layers!

I live in Seattle and I have chickens. Roosters aren't allowed in city limits so to buy chickens you have to venture out into the surrounding areas. We don't seem to have any problems with unwanted roosters- because there aren't any. I agree with eating unwanted chickens. and if you're vegetarian, ask a friend to eat it. They are domesticated farm animals after all.

I love terrariums!
I recently made a terrarium out of a glass container I pick up on clearance at Pottery Barn for $4. I put 3 different kinds of moss in it, and 2 died.
Anyone have some suggestions on types of plants?

Also make sure you use biodegradable soaps. My favorite is Dr. Broners. Then my dish soap, hand soap and shampoo is all in one.
And if you are hiking away from toilets, use biodegradable TP too!

I had the "worms eat my garbage" composter and I do not recommend it. After it gets about half full, it is impossible to turn the compost without popping the corners apart. The plastic easily clicks together but it's a pain.

In Seattle we have 32 gallon cans. We don't have to sort anything and it is free. Plus we can get fined if 10% of our garbage is recyclable. They recently converted the garbage/recycle trucks to B20 biodiesel mix to cut down on pollution. Seattle has made a great effort to become more green.
