I'm digging the pumpkin-colored ceiling in the white bedroom...

Regarding clutter: the self-help articles have the same message but are forever timely in my world. My problem is that I enjoy "finding" items from the past in my home ... "oh, that thing!" That said, I cleared off my piano to have it tuned. When I sat to play, I found myself playing on the bare piano with a different mindset. Kept it that way for a week, but my chachkes needed their home back, so back they went.

I love the bookshelves -- industrial with an Asian twist. Where are they from?

We have one in our NYC apartment. It's from "Heavenly Heat" -- http://www.greenlivingoasis.com/saunas.html. I grew up with a sauna in the basement of my Finnish grandparent's modest home in Northern MN.

Small saunas are usually infrared, which I really didn't want since it veered so much from a traditional sauna and the löyly, or the sauna steam. But small traditional saunas with electric sauna stoves are often 230v, while infrared are 110v.

So, the "Heavenly Heat" combo unit has both. A smaller sauna stove powered by 110v (actually, 125v), and infrared heaters. It gets plenty hot.

The entire unit is self-contained, on casters, and measures about 51"x51". It arrived in panels that went together very easily. If you have a largish bedroom, it fits. No steam escapes. The photos show it with lots of glass panels, but I opted for all wood except for the glass door.

I grew up with a sauna at my Finnish grandparents' basement in chilly Northern Minnesota. I now have two -- one in my NYC apartment (electric stove and infrared), and a wood burning sauna at our cabin in the woods. Both provide the steam needed by throwing water on the rocks. And the wood burning one is beyond amazing.

I couldn't take my eyes off the microcar in the middle of the photo. Just spent way to long looking for what it is: it's a Romi-Isetta (Brazil) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isetta.

Oh -- my commute? NYC: about 2 feet, the bed to the computer. I have to be careful not to get Apartment Fever!
