Huh - so I just assumed it wasn't meant as a children's book because of the sexual content. But I kept looking around, and in her bio, she says, "My current project, Crime Against Nature, is both a series and a children’s book for the kid in all of us." I wonder if she means a "picture book" for the kid in all of us. A "children's book" implies that it is actually intended for children, and I just can't imagine this being marketed for children. I'm seeing it shown around on blogs meant for children's books though, and - being a former children's librarian - I'm a little puzzled. Love In The Wild: Gwenn Semeel's Crimes Against Nature |

Ha ha - yep, all the talk about animals having sex made me wonder but that's the clincher. It seems like there should be a children's version, in the spirit of 'And Tango Makes Three,' but then we wouldn't get all the interesting information! Love In The Wild: Gwenn Semeel's Crimes Against Nature |

This artwork is beautiful and the commentary on the animals' behavior is fascinating, but I don't think it's intended as a children's book. Sentences like this are the tip off: "Females seek out clitoral stimulation and other nonprocreative sexual interactions." Love In The Wild: Gwenn Semeel's Crimes Against Nature |

Gorgeous! I like how all the details add texture without distracting from the amazing print. You can also tell that colorful toys and books will be able to be layered in without competing with the design. A Nursery Starts with Art: Cloud Print Inspired Nursery |

I love everything about this tour - it's so inspiring! It truly calls to the heart of Apartment Therapy - making spaces functional and beautiful and having just what you need. I'm especially entranced that she manages to paint in this space - wow! Mary Lee's Life in 300 Square Feet House Tour |

What a gorgeous party! I love that the primary expense was on reusable playthings (the masks). Thanks for sharing! Best Kids' Parties: Woodland My Party |

I agree that they're more accessible to kids than most of the animals we decorate with, so it makes sense to give them something cute and recognizable in their room. I'm in love with this squirrel lamp from Urban Outfitters, but they don't let you pick which critter you get - http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=26574566&parentid=A_DECORATE Squirrels in the Kids' Room: The Next Big Thing? |

The similarity between Christi and Knoxy was freaking me out until I clicked through and saw they live in the same building. Whew! That was really trippy for a moment. The Year's Top Kitchens Best of 2012 |

It would be interesting to do a poll and ask people to choose which rooms look sterile or cold to them. Some of the most decorated nurseries feel sterile to me because everything is so perfectly staged that it doesn't seem like a real child would be welcome there. (Not that I don't love looking at them anyway!) Tom's Modern Unisex Nursery in the Netherlands My Room |

Thanks so much for sharing! It's hard to notice the birds at first because everything else is so eye-catching, so it's fun to go back through and play "spot the bird!" Christopher's Fine and Feathery Nest House Tour |

I have the Algreen barrels that look like terra cotta and have a planter in the top. They really do look good in person. Helpful Links: Rain Barrel Roundup |

I have a hammock in my living room and it's my favorite reading spot. The gentle swaying and cocooning are instant relaxers. It's also a favorite with guests - especially kids! Creating an Escape at Home: Hammocks |

And the alphabet! How could I forget? I was just reading that Montessorians introduce lower case letters first because you see more of them than upper case letters, which I've never thought of but makes perfect sense. I absolutely love this alphabet display and it actually looks like something your little girl will be able to learn from. Scandinavian Nursery on a Budget My Room |

This is one of my most favorite nurseries I've seen. I love the warm neutrals, the texture of the wooden pieces, the bird mobile, the painting above the crib . . . It looks soothing and interesting at the same time - well done and congratulations on your baby girl! Scandinavian Nursery on a Budget My Room |

I like the all-in-one functionality of this, but I wish they gave more information about how it works. I'm especially curious about how you record breastfeeding times and sides - if it's just one more complicated thing to fiddle with, it might not be that helpful. Serenity Star Family Find |
