(haha I just realized, I said white because I loved it so much and it won't draw too much attention but if you choose a similar wood to your dresser it might fit better with your style :) )

Adding Storage To An Already Full Bedroom?
Good Questions

I disagree with people telling to get rid of these...they are beautiful. I think you can come up with a solution AND keep them, but, as others suggested, I would move of out (the one with the books could be a good living room or dining room piece if you have the place, and I agree with putting a door on the closet and making better storage inside. Also agree with seeing what you're still wearing and doing a big clean up of your clothes. You could also put one or two long white wall-suspended shelves along the upper part of the wall with the closet (and take the piece on that side out), on which you could put neutral identical boxes ligned up, for additionnal storage. The length and horizontal layout of the shelves will make the room appear bigger than if you had the same amount of shelf space but in vertical layout. You'll also have more room to walk.

@ walleee : I was looking for the same thing and just found this: http://tv.houseandhome.com/segment/diy-industrial-clothes-rack

just don't put the base with the wheels

I've really wanted a clothing rack liek that for a while, but following a lot of other reader's comments on fading, I'm kind of worried: is it that bad?

in the size/type of building both are pretty similar, the difference is mainly in the ownership. A person actually owns a condo, it's liek a share of the building, and thus, the general maintenance building fees are paid by everybody. If I'm not mistaken, everybody pays a certain amount per month for these general fees, and some people are designated responsible for the organisation of the maintenance. An apartment is owned by a single owner, not necessarily living there, who owns the whole building, and rents it to different people. Because you don't own an apartment, that's why people in apartments generally have to come up with creative solutions because they cannot modify it as they please (the owner has to approve), and that where Apartment Therapy becomes handy!

I wonder if the Stolmen closet system from IKEA would have the same disadvantages everyone is talking about (food smell, moths, dust, fading, etc) ? I really like it and was actually planning on buying it soon, but if it does turn out to have all these downsides I might as well find a cheap clothing rack to have my fun during a couple of months and then get over it...What do you think? The stolmen DOES have shelves, drawers, etc, and you can also store rarely used items such as seasonal stuff or sheets in boxes.
