I would get a hat box, they make them square as well at hobby lobby if you have one close, the decorative type and cut the back out of it and the bottom and put it on a desk or dresser to use as a cover for it. And with the back and bottom cut out, it shouldn't get to hot.. and it will be decorative and cover the lights when you sleep.
