Based on our experiences a couple of additional tips: Preparing For An Overseas Move |

Personally, I prefer my OneLessDesk by Heckler design. It is expensive but substantially less so than the Herman Miller designs. It is very space conscious, made of solid materials that can withstand a heavy monitor and it has a concealed cord management system on the back. Oh, and it is stylish enough to withstand my uber-picky standards although I chose the not-so-edgy white color. The Best Closet Sized Home Office Desks | Apartment Therapy Unplggd |

Wow! Tasteful, elegant and a wonderful use of subtle textures. For a place such as that I might even be willing to move to Alabama. A Sumptuously Textured Birmingham Abode B-Metro, Fall 2009 | Apartment Therapy DC |

These lighting fixtures are the primary ones but not the only ones. More suggestions regarding the initial question would be appreciated. Replacements for these Halogen Light Fixtures? Good Questions | Apartment Therapy Chicago |

Not halogen due to the additional energy costs. This is the primary lighting in the living area and as our winter nights are long the costs end up being substantial. Replacements for these Halogen Light Fixtures? Good Questions | Apartment Therapy Chicago |

Oooh! I have lusted over the caboche lamp since I saw it in a restaurant in and East End London venue. Have kept it in my file of "I will someday have that..." Apartment Therapy San Francisco | High Low: Caboche Chandelier |

Nice execution and idea. Would be interested to know what the total end cost was though as I suspect that it is still way beyond the reach of most people. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | Donna Riley's Zero Energy Idea House House Tour |

Since I don't have a tv music is key. No room for the turntable type so it more digitally-oriented but still manages to create a sense of atmosphere. Couldn't live without it! Apartment Therapy Chicago | Warm Up Your Home with Music |

Ours is probably a typical London landlord, he gets his money and that is all that matters to him. We had a major leak from the apartment above us (read: water streaming down one wall of our kitchen and from the ceiling) and he didn't even get back to us until 2 weeks after it began. Took him 1 year to get all the damage repaired but that was not before the ceiling had partially collapsed! Apartment Therapy San Francisco | How Long Does Your Landlord Take to Fix Things? |

A friend of mine did this on the ground floor of her very large, very stylish London home and every time you go there all you can see is dust and footprints. She has said that while she loved the idea the practicalities of it in real life just didn't quite work. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | Inspiration: High Gloss Black Floors |

Love the giant fish lamp! Does he sell it and/or have a website? Would be very interested to check out the rest of his designs. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | House Tour: Alex’s Furniture Filled Home Melbourne |

Having been to both of these places I must agree the decor is playful, fun and worth a peek. Of the two I prefer Lounge Lover but be warned that it has some of the rudest staff in London. Apartment Therapy Chicago | Lounge Lover, London |

The entrance looks like the doorway to a Japanese love hotel and the interior too dark and industrially inspired (insane asylum or prison maybe?). While each concept serves a purpose, neither works for a place to live. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | Hot or Not?: Apartments by at103 |

Love the look but no can't afford it. It's too bad there doesn't seem to be much, if any, affordable eco-furniture out there yet. Apartment Therapy New York | Environment Furniture: Hot Green Beds |

Ewwww. While very pretty it doesn't make for a very hygienic kitchen surface. Even in a shoe-free household (like ours) feet are dirty and should not be on counter tops. Strike out! Apartment Therapy New York | Stair Becomes Countertop by I-Beam Design |
