Hi all! Thanks for the comments- construction was very easy since my husband works at Lowes and kinda just "knows" these things.

I, on the other hand.... haha... I will ask him when he is off tomorrow for a list of materials for those of you that are curious :)

I know the basics- pvc, pipe connectors, and a pipe cutter but Ill get back to yall on the details!

Kpag- thanks! the cookie dough and such was from a swap I did with a friend. Go to any craft store, pick up various colors of felt, and have yourself a ball. Since that swap, I've made a whole picnic basket kit for Haley- sandwich bread, tomatos, meat, cheese! It is quite simple, it just takes some patience, haha. You can go on etsy and type in "felt food" and be completely inspired. Nanacompany.etsy.com has a lot of wonderful felt items you can purchase as well :)

Thank you so much dear! The height of the counter is 22 inches, and the overall height is is 40 inches. She is 15 months right now, and she still isn't able to reach her potholders and all the little things on her cupboard.

As for the sink, it's just a mixing bowl from wal-mart. I`m sure you probably just have one laying around somewhere. A metal dog bowl will also do the trick. Also, another tip: If you can can get something in stainless steel, it is worth the extra bit of money.

Zmama- thanks for the compliment! We stuck it in our kitchen so she could cook along beside us. I`m serious, if you can just measure out the size boards you want, Lowe's will do all the cutting for you and all you have to do is nail things together. As for the shelf, go to grannys, antique stores, etc and look for little collectable displays. I`m not a handy woman in the slightest, and managed to do this. The only real tough part was using the drill for the kitchen sink! Eeep! Anyway, just thought i`d provide a little motivation :) It`s always nice and rewarding when you can do something yourself for your little ones...

I love the lived in feeling of this room and how although there isn't a loud color on the wall, other aspects of the room really bring it to life. When I look at this room I can totally imagine what a fun, imaginative child Simon must be! :)

As for being disheartened by pristine looking and catalog like rooms-I think all the rooms entered have a lot of personality and personal touches that the parents love and put thought into and that`s what really counts.

I know when taking pictures of Haley's room I certianly tidied up a bit (read: a lot) because I wanted to present her room at its finest- this is a contest afterall, so i put everything in its rightful place. Blocks in her stockings, play kitchen utensils in her play kitchen, etc. In it's natural state... books, dolls and spinny doo-dads, and pots and pans are scattered all about the floor.

I really love your window set up, its so cheerful! Where are the string duckies and the floral arrangement from? :)

We just had it laying around. I have seen the same thing online @ Linens n' things (go to the old post @ the top of this article where haley's drying rack is featured and I believe they have a direct link in it) and then in store @ wal-mart. I`m sure places like bed, bath and beyond and even k-mart and target carry the same thing! Search: Clothes Drying Rack on Google too if all those places turn up empty. Good Luck :)

pennycarnival- why don't you fill mason jars up with partymix- use colorful things such as m&ms, skittles, peanuts. You can tie assorted ribbons across the lid of each jar to go along with your rainbow theme as well :)
