what's everybody's take on what's happening with rental prices in LA? they're starting to go down a bit, but just a bit. in my neighborhood, at least a full third of all the buildings have had "for rent" signs in front of them for going on two (sometimes more) months now. anybody know where to find that bedspread? i recently saw it in domino's feature on architect elizabeth roberts (november issue, the holiday guide, starts on page 106). it's a modern twist on the classic chenille hobnail bedspreads with fringe, and i can't find it anywhere. i have four of them around my kitchen farm table and they're great. i mean, for $40 each, i'm much happier with them than i expected to be. they match my light-ish old pine table perfectly and they're comfortable enough, even without cushions, to sit around for a bit, which is all anybody ever does in my kitchen. the serious lounging happens in my living room.
