Love them but I don't like seeing a bunch of toiletries out. We had our medicine cabinet recessed into the wall so it is massive and 10 inches deep.

We have a limit of items in our home. We both come from families with hoarding genes and this is our way of keeping that in check. If something enters our home we have to get rid of something. I have to really want/need something in order for it to take a place of an existing item.

A friend bought a similar property in France. 10 years later they are still working on it. It is just too massive and needs round the clock staff to maintain. They live there half of the year and the entire time is spent working. One thing gets repaired and something else breaks.

we often shower before going to bed and wash change our sheets once a week, pillowcases twice a week, duvet every two weeks. we vacuum sofas/soft furnishings 1-2 a week and shampoo them once a year or as needed if there is an accident. My sheets have lasted many years, perhaps it is the quality of the sheets?

I didn't think I would ever say this about anyone's home but I am jealous. I am in love with your home. It is fantastic in so many ways. Bravo!

Mine would sleep on my pillow and it was usually great but occasionally we'd wake up to awful gagging and then vomit. Lots of fun washing cat vomit out of my hair at 3AM.

My only problem is getting the smell out of the home. Whenever I caramelize onions I smell them for days. And I mop, clean all of the counter-tops, burn a candle, etc.

Packing light takes a lot of the stress of travel for me. I take dark basics and bright accessories. Wear the heaviest stuff onto the plane. I also carry a rubber sink drain cover for emergency hand washing.
