I hate discussing my diet!! I have a no grains diet (from a doctor at U of MD Celiac Center) due to a tough case of Celiac disease. I dislike talking about diets/food choices. I eat meat and won't apologize but would never comment on my friends' decision to be vegan. People seem to get very "political" about food/diets (whether Paleo, vegan, local, free range, organic), which I think everyone finds annoying. I live in DC. Living in a city with children is doable until schools enter the picture. We stayed in DC because we could afford private schools. Most people, if private schools are out of reach, move to the suburbs for public schools. Will Gen Y Ever Move to the Suburbs? The Wall Street Journal |

I have a giant park a block away that I love; Rock Creek Park. I take my kids down for a hike a couple of Saturdays each month when we aren't going to birthday parties or sports stuff. I also cycle it early in the mornings on the weekends when they close some of the streets in it. I like most of the wildlife, except the deer. Green Space: An Ode to My Local Park |

Too bad Ms. Lyons can't spend time improving the quality of J. Crew clothing. Total nose dive in recent years! Hmm, sometimes substance is just as important as style. Using Furniture to Sell Fashion: Jenna Lyons and J.Crew |

I love the show. I laughed at the ski jacket one of the kids wore in a previous episode because I had one so similar. Shop the Set: The Americans |

I agree with AngryRedhead, the Fellowes is a beast. We have had 3 shredders in four years. The beast is still with us. It is a work horse. Highly recommend! Best Paper Shredders 2013 Apartment Therapy's Annual Guide |

My husband and I were just discussing my inability to move to a digital calendar. I cannot find a calendar that is easier/better than pen and paper calendar. I think it might be an age thing? I have to keep track of four different schedules and cannot move digital. Did everyone start on digital calendars or did you make the switch? I have Celiac disease and never expect a host to accommodate my disorder. The gluten free diet is very complicated and cross contamination is a huge problem. For example, I have been exposed to gluten from my mother-in-law's non-stick pans. So I usually bring my food. I do have a few close friends who insist on cooking for me and we stick to grilled meat and fresh veggies. I find the diet to be a huge PITA and would never expect a friend or host to deal with it. (But I will admit I almost cry when my friends do accommodate me!) Dealing with Food Allergies as a Host |

I leave my keys in the door. Thank god for the postal carrier! She constantly reminds me. I also have a bad habit of leaving kitchen cabinet doors wide open. Open shelving was made for me. What's Your Bad Habit at Home? |

If some have taken the stance that it is a signifier of money or class, I have been in some very expensive homes ($2M+) belonging to people who could easily afford them. These houses were done by professional decorators. All had family photos in the "public areas". Not as prominently displayed (or as large) as the photo above, but family photos nonetheless. While they have fabulous designs, I have been really disappointed with my Crate & Barrel flatware. Although it is stainless steel, it is rusting in places. I would not recommend it to anyone. 5 Sources for Modern Flatware |

We recently started grocery shopping with only cash. This has almost completely eliminated food waste in our house. It has also greatly reduced our food budget (and I have Celiac, which is one of the most expensive diets around!). I highly recommend it. 5 Ways To Combat Food Waste At Home |
