my childhood home bedroom was a Michael Jordan shrine, with framed posters, jerseys, cards, wheaties boxes-you name it, I had it and displayed it. So the photo made me smile. Most of it was taken down and put in storage over the last five years. But my mom and dad felt compelled to keep up the decorations I outfitted my closet with-makes me nostalgic and them to I guess. Love it, but I have never had a closet with enough space for a desk. That's a small room. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | What's In This Closet? |

Agree with the above, I love AT but have to give it a rest every now and again for the same reason. It also promotes consumerism and wanting more than one really needs. Everyone has to figure out the best way to keep themselves in balance. Apartment Therapy Chicago | Inspiring or Alienating: Dwell |

I've rented two apartments sight unseen, both through brokers/realty companies. I could not visit the cities and look for apartments at the time. Maybe not ideal, but it happens. I would not do it through craigslist, however. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Look: Craigslist Rental Scam |

If I may inject a question also? I just bought a flat screened television to replace my tube that died. With the new set being so small, I no longer need my big ole' entertainment stand. Can anyone recommend something under 300 that I can now sit my vcr and 19 inch television on? I'm even looking into low book shelves, if possible. Thanks! I thought they were over the brown too...guess not. But moreso, the pricing seems too high unless their quality has increased substantially over the last couple of years. Apartment Therapy - West Elm's Storage Bed#comments |

Call me crazy, but this seems VERY strange to me. I have never known a man with a collection of toys, let alone a collection that demanded to display. In any case, I think the person uptheread has it correct that the issue is less about aesthetics and more about compromise. An adult man has to be willing to compromise on this and understand why someone wouldn't want their living room looking like a toy store. We all have our quirks and have to incorporate them into our relationships. For instance, I run marathons and end up with lots of medals. There is never more than one medal displayed in my home, at a time. Usually I display the most recent one I've received in a small frame on my desk. The rest are packed away along with bibs that I sometimes like to keep. I understand folks like to collect and express who they are; but it doesn't take 100 objects to do that. Good luck.
