I keep vodka, chocolate chips, lots of different kinds of nuts, home made chicken stock, over ripe bananas for the banana bread that I will never make. I used to keep egg whites because Nigella said I should, but I never did end up making a merengue and wound up throwing them away. I also have some really nice Toulous sausage and a bunch of TV dinners that a kindly old neighbor gave me. They look disgusting but I feel bad about chucking them. He's such a nice old man.

I love the handles on the cabinets and may I ask what that backspash is made out of? Also, just to clarify, the cabinets themselves are from Ikea, but the doors are custom? Is that right?

"it loses its language of a coat rack, and instead becomes a quirky but practical shoe storage solution that ties in with the surroundings in which it’s intended."

what a tool.

It's kind of a lot of brown for me. Like the kitchen, bathroom, and hallway are all brown. How fun would it be if the kitchen was that teal or the same yellow as the lamp? Although, having said that the whole teal, chocolate, white combo seems a little played at this point. It's very Domino Magazine, two years ago.

It is really pretty. I love a lot of the things in the Mitchell Gold line. However that price is preposterous for a bed side table. Much like what happened to Dwell Magazing this whole site seems to be increasingly out of touch with reality. It's one thing to advocate clean simple beautiful design, but it's quite another to fetishize pieces and places that many of the readers could never afford or attain.

Did that come off bitchy?

Breezily naming a friends unpretentious Parisian apartment with bad lighting and no precious objects as one of your favorite places is the ULTIMATE in pretention. As is the scarf and the design store in Park Slope.

FANTASTIC! I love this. Spare but not devoid of personality. Smart and very stylish. I especially love the white book case in the living room and the color of the kitchen. Brilliant.

Someone help me out. Why are we not allowed to put a tv in front of a sofa?

I like having a little chair like that in the bedroom. It's perfect for draping jeans and clothes across or for sitting on to put on socks and shoes. So many options.

What I don't like are the vertical blinds. Whoever invented those has a special place in hell waiting for them.

I LOVE those old school chairs!

Yes I think we are all in agreement. This place is stunning. So clean and minimal. Like a lobby with a bed in it.

I have to say, this contest has gotten a little silly. How can a renter compete with an architect who own his own apartment and can do with it whatever he wants, budget be damned? The answer is they can't possibly compete. Renters, don't even bother entering.

Good luck Kelly and Gregory. You clearly deserve $2500 worth of furniture from DWR.
