Kudos, Adam and spouse.
Your furniture collection is absolutely incredible and your lifestyle choice is commendable. I really tire of the American consumerist "need" to have more stuff and the mindset that if you don't have "stuff" you are a lifeless and heartless zombie. Surely, the opposite is true. We all consume, some just do it more carefully and without reckless abandon. The last facet to my comment is regarding comments overall in the contest; unless you have an abundance of pretty knick-knacks and shelves clogged with stuff to make you space "more homey" or an über-cute pet or adorable gingerbread home that belongs in a fairy tale, you are seemingly doomed and ->gasp<- unpopular. Earnestly, I wish for more critical thinking, constructive criticism, and general awareness both in this contest and in the everyday world. That being said, I enjoy peering into the lifestyles and choices (good and bad) others make because it helps me inform my own reasoning. Thank you for entering the contest and sharing your thoughtful vision.

Audrey,
As a fellow contestant, I am jealous of your space. I strive for your minimalism, sensitivity and restraint. One day, I hope to attain a space as cohesively designed as your own. Congratulations on a beautiful entry and good luck!

Wow, thanks everyone! I appreciate the positive comments and the constructive criticism! To answer a few of your questions:

• The color palette is an almost strict "Greyscale, Greenscale and Woodscale".
• The wonder of MCM furniture is that was ergonomic before its time. Making it clean/minimal and much more comfortable than it looks!
• My stereo consists of all vintage pieces including a Marantz 1060 integrated amp, 110 tuner, 6300 turntable and Definitive Technology bookshelf speakers.
• The sofa is sitting atop a clear plexi base making it appear as if it is magically floating and hovering in the space.
• The white "credenza" are in fact IKEA kitchen cabinets that I installed to add needed storage, but most importantly hide the big and ugly A/C unit under the window.
• In terms of the photographs at night, I originally submitted panorama photographs and received an email stating that I couldn't use them due to AT's website formatting. :( I didn't have any additional time during the day to reshoot, hence nightshots. However, if you check out my pinterest page, you can look at some of the originals and outtakes (only 5 photos was difficult!): http://pinterest.com/invisiblerabbit/invisible-rabbits-burrow/

Thanks again for the love!
Sincerely, Harvey

How does this nearly lost hand-crafted artistry resemble anything to do with the crappy mass-produced "bar in a box"/TGIF or large metal letter aesthetic? Keep on topic people! These signs are gorgeous (and custom one-of-a-kind).

Great Home!
Can you tell me where your Vinyl record storage/shelf/boxes are made by or where you got them? I love that solution!

It looks like there is a lot of light in this room. If you have a green thumb (and no yard space), I would personally turn it into an in-home greenhouse! The bar could be where you do all of the potting.

Why not get some colorful Art instead? Using books just for the color of the spines seems phony, heavy, not to mention a bad use of space. If you want to organize the books you own and treasure by color, great! However, strictly as a design element the decorative books leave me feeling illiterate.
