I initially cringed at the idea of painting these lovely nightstands but once I read the whole article- hats off for saving the project! And they turned out beautifully. Very punchy yet classic. Well done.

I think it's cool and adds a nice punch of glamour in the right setting.

Furthermore, I'm always impressed when someone is able to take something mass-produced and inexpensive and transform it into something unique. It would be great to have a huge budget to buy something spectacular and one of a kind or live in a place with fab flea markets, but that's not always an option for everyone. I really admire people who come up with clever ways to make it work. I will say that the slightly crooked trim would irk me, but I suppose every home has its imperfections and no one ever knows the difference if you aren't taking a head-on photo of it to be scrutinized on the internet. Well done, Jacqui!

Kate3: Such a great idea!

I'm trying to recreate something similar, but I am new to this DIY stuff and have never used wallpaper before. Please forgive the stupid questions but- I am not painting the shelf, so do I need to prime the drawer faces before adding the modge podge? Or maybe just sand first so it's not too slick and then add the modge podge + wallpaper?

So the process is modge podge + wallpaper + modge podge the edges again to seal, right?

Such an amateur... thanks for any help:)
