I adore this hack! As other has stated, DO NOT put your faux Sheepskin rugs through the laundry machines. I ruined mine that way.

This is going to sound awful but, when I am a visitor in another person's house, I am totally judging them. I WILL notice if it is untidy, dirty, smelly, unorganized... I've never ended a friendship over it but, I definitely notice and remember!

So with that in mind, I ALWAYS deep clean before company. If you ever come over, my place is spotless and smells of the vanilla candles that I've lit half and hour before hand. It's crazy anal but... I never want people to leave saying "her place was a mess!"

Just don't come over unannounced... that's another story! :P


Do You Do a Special Clean Up For Visitors or Just Go With the Flow?

When I left my last apartment, I sold, donated, and trashed almost everything I owned. After a couple of weeks at my new place I was frustrated and depressed that things were just not shaping up the way I wanted them. Only recently have I realized that Rome was not built in a day and neither is a stylish, functioning (fully furnished) space! Now, I'm working on relaxing and enjoying the ride, and most importantly, being proud of what I've accomplished thus far!
